The Picture Bunny came...

Twelve more wonderful pictures of Onyx getting decked out. Uploading even as I write this post. Thank you Dennis.  This time tommorow we will be well on our way to Winter Park, Florida. Arriving late on the 29th, leaving on the 1st for a eager trip back to get Onyx home.

Today Sharon and I cleaned out the car and washed her up for the trip to Florida.

Made arrangements for our babies to be checked on while we are gone. I am down to 2.5 days till I go get Onyx. Sharon and her Momma are going with me to Florida. My first trip to Florida.  

It is almost 10pm and I have not got those pictures from Dennis yet. Soon I will be able to take all the pictures and videos I want. But I am hoping to have some of Onyx her in stages of growth. For this I am depending on Dennis.  

I have been trying to find a tent for Onyx and I locally.  Of course my goal is to keep her out of the weather as much as possible.  I also recently learned that baby wipes do an excellent job of cleaning and shining up the metal on the trikes like Onyx.

Andy, super busy weekend, we had a big spring sale plus I was sick as a dog yesterday. But, the Onyx is looking good. A few things to let you know about. Utah had sent us the wrong part for the rear hub but the new one is on its way. It won’t hold us up too much. We can still get the bike done with out it, it’s more comedic than anything. The Catrike folks didn’t give us our fender kit but again no big hold up. I’ll get one tomorrow. I promise to send you some picture tomorrow.

I woke up this morning hoping to see those pictures... Alast none to be seen... I am sure Dennis had a very busy weekend! maybe later.

Today I have 4 days and 18hrs... Talked of  to Dennis at Wheelworks on Friday about the bike rack that he has set said for me a Saris Bone 2 for $149.95 . He say he had lot pictures he just had to upload them... It is Saturday no pictures yet...

Andy, we got the rear wheel laced with the new hub today. Lacing a wheel means, putting in new spokes on a wheel. We had to do with yours because we had to remove the hub that came with our bike and put in the new speed hub. Sorry no new picture but again very busy today. I hope to make lots of head way on your bike tomorrow. I’ll be sure to take lots of photos.

Andy, the bike looks great. The only part out of the box so far is the rear
wheel so we can lace in the new hub. I'll get you some pictures as soon as I

Andy, just a quick up date. Your bike should be in this week…Wednesday…maybe. Also we got the fairing in today as well. All is looking good. I’m going to plan on having it ready by the 30^th,so I’ll check with the hotel on having you arrive that day if that ok with you? Should only be an over night stay unless you want to stay longer and ride the trail or visit the area.

Ashley just got a hold of me... I guess I still am in one piece. This was the chat we had. Hope you have a good good relationship with him. I guess he does not think very well of me, right down.  I was hoping my thread on BROL would have helped ease the feeling. I guess not.   So how are we setting now?

10:53 AM Utah: We are putting the Schlumpf drive on your boom today. Dennis didn't know any details. Do you want black or chrome? 27t? 170mm or 152 cranks?

Andy, I’ll set up your reservation with the hotel…I have an in with the owner. We are going to shoot for sometime around the 28^th-30^th.

 

We are too busy on the weekend to do detail fittings so the weekday will be best.

 

If I can get you the USA jersey I would say a Red, White and Blue helmet would look good. I you want to say with the black theme go with a black helmet. We have a number of colors and color combos…too many to list.

 

As soon as I let a serial number you’ll be the first to know.

Hey ! Finally Ordered, after finding a shop close enough that my Sharon would take me to go get it. Wanted Utahtrikes settled on Winter Garden Wheelworks.

Did I not see where someone had a trunk mount bike rack that I could use to haul my Catrike back with? Please help me find a rack for a Toyota Camry... NO harm or Mods to the Camry is a must!

3 or 4 weeks now! Whew! This is tough!!

Dennis confirmed the order: 1 Catrike Black Expedition (CBE), just happen to have a few shirts that say "CBE"... Alright! 3/4 weeks to go that is 21 to 28 days. That is 376 hours left - awake just waiting.... maybe I could sleep longer... except that darn sun keeps waking me up! Oh the agony of it all! How did you all handle this???

Yes "Onyx" has been ordered (Catrike Black Expedition - CBE), I can't wait to go get her, she is only 450 miles away. Dennis promised to email me and send pictures while she is getting fitted out. Can't wait to share her serial number with you all. You all have been very kind to me while I waited and waited for my settlement. Can't believe I did it... my family can't either BOY I could have bought a couple old cars... But I am still waiting on my disability with Social Security, my lawyer says it just takes a lot of time... tick, tick, tick... Oh well so I will be wrapped up in "Onyx" and will not worry about no stinking income... Oh have I gone mad of what... I still did to eat and sleep... and less eat. Thomas help me out... I know your life has changed a lot right... Told Dennis that I expected "Onyx" to look just as pretty as "Silk" - He said "Oh the Batman trike! that trike is loaded." Hope Dennis calls me around the 1st of May... have a birthday girl on the 7th - would hate to miss the party. Okay later guys...

I am so excited I have wanted this for so long... I even thought I would be able to buy it from Ashley at Utahtrikes... He knows trikes! If I had gotten just a little bit more I could have made the trip to Utah all by myself... My family really thinks I have gone off the deep end buying this trike... at least for now they are still willing to take me to Florida... But if ya don't hear from me and I drop off the map it is THEM they took me away and locked me up!

So I didn't get to go to Utah, hope Ashley and crew are glad that I at least got to order my trike, even if they did not get a piece of my pie. I hope Dennis and Wheelworks can do as good a job on my trike as Utahtrikes has done with others.

All day has gone by and no word on "Onyx"'s condition, hope she is okay, don't they know how painful this waiting is. Looking at the timer and I swear it has not moved much... 26 days 14 hours and 56 minutes and it just counts down so darn slow !!! Checked my email nothing.... Later guys...

Getting Closer... to the purchase

Things are not going  smoothly as I wish. But, I am getting there.  I have purchased my GPS - I settled on the Garmin GPSmap 60CSx and I have my new camera - a Samsung F34,  a step up from the the Samsung I was looking at. This one can take pictures as well. So I can record by adventure to purchase and setup my trike. I also have planned my trip on the GPS and am ready for anything. 

My family has urged me to buy my trike closer to home than Utah. Since they are taking me to the place to purchase and bring me back - I could only concede to them.  I am looking to go to Florida to purchase my trike, just about where the Catrike's are manufactuered in Winter Garden, Florida. I have shot my parts list to them and have had one email back to me, I have called them and voiced my concern about the about of time they said it would take to get all the parts to put my trike together. I suggested using parts they did have locally to speed things up.  So It looks like a minium of 3 three weeks  right down.  Later...
