Sean provides us with the best Medicine.
Well after my Hospital Stay and my Doctor's stern advice or orders to follow - one is to walk a minimum of 45 minutes a day and eat 1400 calories and count each ONE! So after seeing Sean's video I thought it would be good advice to follow too.

Tour of "WiTHiN"
Greg provides a tour of WiTHiN human powered boat which he will pedal from Canada to Hawaii. Follow his progress at Pedaltheocean.
Hello! As I have been promising for a while, here is a video tour of WITHiN. I shot this with my new Gopro HD camera. What an awesome camera! It comes with a variety of very handy mounting options. I placed mounting brackets all around WiTHiN and in the cockpit and cabin so I can just clip the mini camera into a bracket, push a button and start shooting video. One 32 gig SD cards holds up to 9 hours of HD video. It's water proof, shock proof and shoots through a very wide angle lens which makes shooting video and photos inside WiTHiN much more descriptive.. Google "gopro" if you are interested.
Congrat's Greg - I wish you well on your April 1st trip... and that is no joke.

C O L O R IS GOOD!
I am sure you all know Maxine... Well anyway this was sending in my email when I cam back from the doctors office and hospital stay. Thanks Wendy
Yesterday I went to the doctor
for my yearly physical.
My blood pressure was high ....
My cholesterol was high .......
I'd gained some weight, and I didn't feel so hot. My doctor said eating right doesn't have to be complicated and it would solve my physical problems.
He said: Just think in colors. Fill your plate with bright colors. Try some greens, oranges, reds, maybe something blue, etc.
So I went right home and ate an entire bowl of
And sure enough, I felt better immediately. I never knew eating right could be so easy !!!

New Life Style!
I have been away a couple days, my feet had swollen up so bad I had no choice but to go to the doctor. No income no insurance, The doctor put me in the hospital within 30 minutes of seeing him even given my status.
Bottom line I have to change my life style completely if I want to live... Must find a way to get my medicines I must lose weight, that I gained since Sharon broken my heart, literally!; I have to count every calorie I consume. If I do all this I may live to see may doctor another year. I had re-started my walking, 5 to 10 miles a day but my feet just got so bad. I am getting back in shape so I can get back on my recumbent trike; an Expedition model of the Catrike line. If you have been following me you know I named her "Onyx". I lost a year in depression and sorrow and almost my life. Is not love just grand!
So I plea with you to help if you have a program that will allow me to key in what I have to eat, and report back how much I may eat and drink. In the light of this I have been looking at on-line articles for help. like this. To the left you see a calorie counter known as the CalorieSmart Mini. Enjoy the article, and drop me a line, on how you got back on track. Or how did you suppress your hunger? Join me as I follow Kristie Ally in her new series "Big Life", as I have mentioned in a post on my blog. Love and Shalom to you all.
If you want to carve out a set of killer abs one of the first things you will have to do is control what you eat. For most people this is easier said then done. An appetite is a fickle creature, causing us to hunger and crave food and drinks that aren’t good for us. Our appetite is influenced by two things. The first is what is going on around us. You know, like when someone brings a box of doughnuts to the office. They are really hard to resist. The second factor is our own body’s bio-chemical signals that tell us when we are hungry and it’s time to eat.
There are ten things you can do to help control these cravings which will help you to lose excess body fat.
1. Drink when you’re hungry – Drinking lots of water is not only good for you it will also help to rein in your appetite. Water takes up space in your stomach making it feel full. You should drinking 64 ounces of water a day.
2. Graze instead of binge – Eat smaller meals more often during the day. Eating 5 to 6 smaller meals during the day keeps your appetite down and can help prevent eating more than you need, which is often the case if you are eating 1 to 3 large meals a day. Grazing over the course of a day also keeps insulin and blood sugar levels more consistent which help prevent the body from storing excess sugars as fat.
3. Complex carbohydrates – Eating foods like potatoes, rice, corn and pasta that are high in complex carbohydrates can help satisfy an appetite with fewer calories. One reason that complex carbohydrates help lessen an appetite is that they appear to turn off the keep eating signal sooner than a diet made up of high fat foods. Another way that complex carbohydrates appear to help curb an appetite is the brain chemical serotonin. Carbohydrates appear to increase serotonin levels in the brain which reduces appetite.
4. Fiber fills you up – Foods high in fiber not only have less calories per serving they also fill you up faster because they take up a lot of room in the stomach. They also require you to chew longer which makes you eat slower which allows the body’s hunger signals to be dampened before you eat too much.
5. Soup is good food – Soup has been shown to reduce cravings and helps control the desire to eat more. Soup is able to accomplish this because it takes up a large amount of space in the stomach. It is also high in complex carbohydrates which satisfy the brains hunger signals better than fatty foods.
6. Eat spicy foods – If you love spicy hot food then partake of it more often. Spicy foods satiate your appetite much better than more boring foods. Spicy foods also make you sweat, a sure sign of an increased metabolism. A higher metabolic rate means you are burning more calories which in turn burns more of your fat stores.
7. Exercise your appetite away – If you are feeling your sweet tooth and are unable to sooth your cravings with water or a high fiber snack try doing some moderate exercise like taking a walk or riding an exercise bike. Exercise helps reduce your appetite by controlling blood sugar and the body’s insulin response. And how many times have you been able to eat a big meal after exercising.
8. Buffet is bad – The key here is to eat simply. Do not prepare large multi-course meals because the tendency is to eat more because there is so much to choose from and you will want to try it all. If you limit your entrees and side dishes to just one selection at each meal you will eat much less and limit your caloric intake.
9. Why do you eat? – Many times we eat because of emotional issues. Comfort foods, which make us feel better, are usually not good for us because of their sugar or fat content. If you are eating because of reasons other than hunger you need to develop other strategies to feel better. Before you start eating as yourself why you are eating. Is it because you are hungry or is it for some other reasons.
10. Get rid of temptations – If you are like most people you give into temptation way to easily. If there are sweets or other fattening foods around you will eat them. Just the sight, smell or sound of food is enough to set most people off on an eating binge. Remove those tempting food from the house. You can’t eat what isn’t there and chances are you won’t miss them.

Big Life with Kristie Alley
Kirstie Alley's "Big Life" is to debut on A&E Sunday March 21, 2010. That's Tonight as I post this blog. Will I watch? You Bet! Kristie was my Girl way back when I discovered her on Cheers! replacing Shelly Long for seasons 6 through 11. Ah those were the days... "Where Everybody Knows Your Name".
According to In Entertainment: "The first two episodes, which air back to back tonight, will follow Kirstie as she tries to train herself with a workout regime. However, self-training proves to be difficult, so Alley and her staff then look to hire a personal trainer to help."
Below is part of the review by Kelly West of Kristie Alley's "Big Life", Which is nice to see a nice size review rather that those one or two lines that you so often see... and they call those "articles" it it more likely to be called "teasers". Nothing to see certainly no meat and potatoes, Thanks Kelly.
While the Showtime series "Fat Actress", which starred Kirstie Alley, was loosely based on her life, Kirstie Alley’s Big Life is based on her actual life.
The new A&E reality series takes us into her home and her world as we get to see her as a mother, an actress and a woman hoping to get into shape.
Kirstie Alley’s "Big Life" begins with Alley introducing herself, her family and the people who work for her. We also dive right into the crux of the matter and what is definitely going to be a major theme in this new series. Kirstie Alley is overweight, and not just by Hollywood standards. Her weight issue hasn’t gone unnoticed by the media, which means she’s often hounded by the paparazzi not only when she’s out with her kids but also at her home. Photographers looking to get the next “Look how big she’s gotten” photo eagerly await an appearance by her. We not only see that, but we also witness the moment where Alley and her family discover a photo taken of her in her yard, on the cover of a tabloid magazine. It’s not easy being overweight in this country, but imagine having a sea of photographers camped outside your house waiting to take a picture of you and have it published.
The first two episodes follow Alley as she attempts to train herself with a workout regimen, alongside her “chubby buddy” Jim (a guy who works for her and also has a weight issue). Self-training proves difficult and in episode two, she and her staff (assistants Kelly and Kyle) look to hire a personal trainer. Minor drama ensues when new assistant Kyle is caught sleeping on the job. The rest of the episode features the trainer interviews and the start of Alley’s new exercise regimen.
For me, the mark of a good celebrity series comes....(See Kelly West's article for more...)
Kristie Alley you will always have a loyal follower right here.

T.O. man died testing wilderness survival skills
Updated: Thu Mar. 04 2010 2:32:21 ctvtoronto.ca View CTV NEWS Clip
A Toronto man found dead in the Muskoka wilderness was testing survival skills he may have learned from watching a reality show and reading books.
Richard Code, 41, left Thursday to test his survival skills in the Ontario bush. He was found dead Monday in a snowy, marshy forest north of Huntsville. He had ventured out on a four-day trip with only an axe, basic fishing gear, and the clothes on his back.
Barbara Ellis, who was a family friend and landlord to Code, told CTV Toronto that he was an avid fan of the Outdoor Life Network show "Survivorman."
"He wouldn't miss a program," she said.
The show follows Canadian survival expert Les Stroud who spends seven days in remote locations with little equipment.
Stroud's website says he treks through the wild with no food, shelter, water, tools, or camera crew.
It is not clear whether Code had formal wilderness training but Ellis showed CTV Toronto highlighted pages from survival books including Stroud's.
She said Code would study the books for hours at a time.
"Richard admired him greatly, and he always saw his shows, so he got a lot of his information out of these books," she said.
She said Code would use what he learned in the books to make shelters in the summer using branches and bark.
"He would strip tree bark off the tree in the backyard, and he'd weave them and braid them like rope," she said.
Ellis said Code went on four previous trips without a tent or food, but she was especially nervous about what would turn out to be his final trip to the Huntsville area.
"He's come back from all these other survival trips but I knew this time he was going up into a snowstorm and I wasn't very happy about that," she said.
She said Code would take precautions before going out alone, including notifying police of his exact location and bringing a survival checklist with him.
Code planned to return Sunday. He left Ellis a note to call police if he did not come home by Monday morning.
His cause of death is still unknown, but Code's brother Stephen said OPP told him Richard likely died from hypothermia.
Ellis said an autopsy will be performed Friday in Bracebridge.
She said Code died doing what he loved.
"Survival skills to Richard are like what hockey is to other men," she said. "It was his passion. He loved it."
Peter Demos, who owns a wilderness supplies store in Muskoka, told CTV Toronto that even experienced survivalists need to take precautions in the cold to avoid freezing to death.
"You can die of hypothermia if you get wet, regardless of the temperature," he said.
The temperature in the area dropped to -12C during the time that Code was missing.

A Kentucky Woman...
If I was just 30 once again... but I am told age is not everything. Oh my, Tasha, she reminds of the Neil Diamond's song..."Kentucky Woman". I meet Tasha online through Camfrog and Fubar. She is the original night owl, calls me all the time and says "What's Up?". She's just smiles that's alright with me and turn's me in to a night hawk. She pops in and out day and night. Tasha loves to dance, and as you would know it she is popular with all the boys... hundred's of IM's at a time... but she lookin's for a man, with a tender lovin' touch. Sometimes it right in front of you Tasha. She was 3 lovely boys: Brian, and the twins Cody and Dakota. A great Family. Oh my I can hear those sweet words of the song each time I think about her. Perhaps some guy will treat her just right... if she get's to know you.... know you.... Kentucky Woman.
Lyrics to "Kentucky Woman" : She shines with her own kind of light... She'd look at you once... And a day that's all wrong... looks all right... And I love her... God knows, I love her...
Kentucky woman...If she get to know you...She goin' to own you...Kentucky woman...
Well, she ain't the kind...Makes heads turn at the drop of her name...But something inside...That she's got turn you on just the same...And she loves me...God knows, she loves me...
Kentucky woman...If she get to know you...She goin' to own you...Kentucky woman...
I don't want much...The good Lord's earth beneath my feet...A gentle touch...From that one girl, and life is...Sweet and good...Ain't no doubt...I'm talkin' about...
Kentucky woman...If she get to know you...She goin' to own you...Kentucky woman
Hugs and Kisses, Tasha

Why Filter Water???

As Selica mentions right off the bat 93% of all surface water in the USA is polluted. It is essential that you reat you water by filtering it or using chemical methods. Selica has put out several videos on water filtering please browse through her YouTube channel and look over them. You can also pop over to her webpage. She covered the MSR mini-works that did a blog on earlier. I was empressed by the fact that the USMC using this water filter for their needs.

Cold Steel Gurkha Kukri (SK-5 High Carbon)

The Kukri blade, with its markedly downward curved blade, has long been identified with the Gurkha Warriors of Nepal, the ferocious mercenaries who have who have wielded this blade for over 150 years in the service of the British Empire.
The Cold Steel Gurkha Kukri was inspired by Cold Steel President, Lynn C. Thompson's close association with Dr. Maung Gyi, chief instructor of the American Bando Association, and a renowned martial artist with wide-ranging knowledge and skills. Under Dr. Gyi's tutelage, Lynn gained insight into the full potential of the Kukri and learned it was not just a chopping weapon but a piercing, slashing, and smashing weapon as well. Smashing techniques allow the Kukri to function as a hammer or mallet or to deliver non-lethal blows in a self-defense role. A concentrated blow with the back of the blade can break bones or be lethal if directed at the head.
With Dr. Gyi's input, Thompson designed a longer, narrower point for the Gurkha Kukri with more distal tapering to the spine. This resulted in a thinner, sharper point which can be deeply driven into thick, tough targets with minimal effort.
Here is a nice review on the Cold Steel Gurkha Kukri (SK-5 High Carbon).
With it's pricing on the market at around $180.00 that is a nice price over the MSRP of $299.99.
SK-5 is the Japanese equivalent of American 1080, a high carbon steel with carbon between 0.75%-0.85% and 0.60%-0.90% manganese. As quenched, it has a hardness near Rc 65 and produces a mixture of carbon rich martensite with some small un-dissolved carbides. The excess carbide increases abrasion resistance and allows the steel to achieve an ideal balance of very good blade toughness with superior edge holding ability. Due to these characteristics, this grade of steel has been used traditionally for making a variety of hand tools, including chisels and woodcutting saws, and has stood the test of time and use over many years in many countries.
Finally a masterfully designed Kraton handle was added to maximize the blade's fierce potential. Perfectly contoured and deeply checkered, it offers a superb non-slip grip and cushions the hand from the shock of the hardest blow.
Each Gurkha Kukri is supplied with a Secure-Ex® sheath to protect the blade and allow you to wear it safely and securely on your side always ready to defend you and your loved ones.

* Blade: 12"
* Thick: 5/16"

So I have to ask, "if all the recoil happens after the pellet leaves the barrel does that mean that the artillery hold makes no difference on a springer? I have a BAM-40 and it is a Bear to shoot. I "think" the artillery hold on the rile helps - am I wrong?"

Can Wong be Right about Pork? YES!
Eating Pork can be Hazardous to your Health
Paul WongWhen I was studying in England I used to live in a “dig” (rooming house) in Highgate, North London. There were Chinese students from Malaysia, Singapore, Sarawak, Hong Kong and Vietnam rooming in the two houses that faced each other. We were all good friends and we spent the weekends cooking and sharing our favorite dishes. One of our friends called Luk studied medicine at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland and he would spend his summer vacation in London with us. Luk's special contribution was “Charsiu” the Cantonese barbecued pork. The way he prepared it was just exquisite, much better than those of any Chinese restaurant I have ever tasted. He had been coming to Highgate every summer for three years, and we always looked forward to tasting his “Charsiu.” The summer before his final year in the university Luk also came to stay with our group, but there was a radical change in him. He told us there would be no more “Charsiu” from that time onwards. The real shocker is that he vowed not to eat any more pork dishes and strongly advised all of us in the group not to do so either. He had such a strong conviction against pork that he would not eat with us if we insisted on having it.
Here is his explanation. Luk was with a team of medical students doing a research project on the effects of diet on stomach and intestinal diseases such as trichinosis. The research team’s method was to go to the hospitals and dissect corpses for autopsies. They based their studies on the diets of the various ethnic communities in the region. Their research uncovered the finding of the ethnic community with the highest percentage of cases with the trichinella spiralis worm belonged to a race that had pork as its main staple diet. Their research data showed a remarkably low percentage of Jews and Moslems with the trichinella spiralis worm in their bodies. It is significant that these two ethnic communities exclude pork and other biblically unclean meats in their diet.
My friend had seen such clear evidence in the co-relationship between pork consumption and stomach and intestinal diseases that he could make a determination not to eat that meat again in all his life. That was the first time I had ever heard a negative report on pork, but it has a lasting impression on my mind ever since that summer in London, England.
Trichinosis – from Encarta Encyclopaedia
Pronounced As: trikinosis or trichiniasis trikinisis, parasitic disease caused by the roundworm Trichinella spiralis. It follows the eating of raw or inadequately cooked meat, especially pork. The larvae are released, reach maturity, and mate in the intestines, the females producing live larvae. The parasites are then carried from the gastrointestinal tract by the bloodstream to various muscles, where they become encysted. It is estimated that 10% to 20% of the adult population of the United States suffers from trichinosis at some time. In many people the disease exhibits no symptoms and is discovered only at autopsy. In others it causes diarrhea and other gastrointestinal symptoms as the worms multiply in the digestive tract. When the larvae circulate through the bloodstream, the patient experiences edema, irregular fever, profuse sweating, muscle soreness and pain, and prostration. There may be involvement of the central nervous system, heart, and lungs; death occurs in about 5% of clinical cases. Once the larvae have imbedded themselves in the muscle tissue, the cysts usually become calcified; however, the infestation usually causes no further symptoms except fatigue and vague muscular pains. There is no specific treatment.
Bad Effects of Pork Consumption
Pig's bodies contain many toxins, worms and latent diseases. Although some of these infestations are harbored in other animals, modern veterinarians say that pigs are far more predisposed to these illnesses than other animals. This could be because pigs like to scavenge and will eat any kind of food, including dead insects, worms, rotting carcasses, excreta (including their own), garbage, and other pigs.
Influenza (flu) is one of the most famous illnesses which pigs share with humans. This illness is harbored in the lungs of pigs during the summer months and tends to affect pigs and humans in the cooler months. Sausage contains bits of pigs' lungs, so those who eat pork sausage tend to suffer more during epidemics of influenza.
Pig meat contains excessive quantities of histamine and imidazole compounds, which can lead to itching and inflammation; growth hormone, which promotes inflammation and growth; sulfur-containing mesenchymal mucus, which leads to swelling and deposits of mucus in tendons and cartilage, resulting in arthritis, rheumatism, etc. Sulfur helps cause firm human tendons and ligaments to be replaced by the pig's soft mesenchymal tissues, and degeneration of human cartilage.
Eating pork can also lead to gallstones and obesity, probably due to its high cholesterol and saturated fat content. The pig is the main carrier of the taenia solium worm, which is found it its flesh. These tapeworms are found in human intestines with greater frequency in nations where pigs are eaten. This type of tapeworm can pass through the intestines and affect many other organs, and is incurable once it reaches beyond a certain stage.
One in six people in the US and Canada has trichinosis from eating trichina worms, which are found in pork. Many people have no symptoms to warn them of this, and when they do, they resemble symptoms of many other illnesses. These worms are not noticed during meat inspections, nor does salting or smoking kill them. Few people cook the meat long enough to kill the trichinae. The rat (another scavenger) also harbors this disease. There are dozens of other worms, germs, diseases and bacteria which are commonly found in pigs, many of which are specific to the pig, or found in greater frequency in pigs.
Pigs are biologically similar to humans, and their meat is said to taste similar to human flesh. Pigs have been used for dissection in biology labs due to the similarity between their organs and human organs. People with insulin-dependent diabetes usually inject themselves with pig insulin. If you pour Coke (yes, the soda) on a slab of pork, and wait a little while, you will see worms crawl out of it.
Medical and Scientific Reasons for not Eating Pork
This is a direct quote from "What the Bible Says About Healthy Eating" by Dr. Rex Russell. He attended Baylor School of Medicine in Houston, Texas and did his residency at the Mayo Clinic at Rochester, Minnesota. "One reason for God's rule forbidding pork is that the digestive system of a pig is completely different from that of a cow. It is similar to ours, in that the stomach is very acidic. Pigs are gluttonous, never knowing when to stop eating. Their stomach acids become diluted because of the volume of food, allowing all kinds of vermin to pass through this protective barrier. Parasites, bacteria, viruses, and toxins can pass into the pigs flesh because of overeating. These toxins and infectious agents can be passed on to humans when they eat a pig’s flesh.
In the "Biblical Archeological Review", Jane Cahill examined the toilets of a Jewish household in Jerusalem, finding no parasites or infectious agents, but only pollen from the many fruits, vegetables, and herbs they had eaten. A similar study done about Egyptians revealed eggs from Schistosoma, Trichinella, wire worm and tapeworms, all found in pork. All of these organisms cause significant chronic diseases. [ this is footnoted Jane Cahill and Peter Warnock, "It had to happen, Scientist Examines Ancient Bathrooms of Romans 586B.C." BAR May/June 1991]
In what is probably a strong illustration of the perils of pork, at one time no cases of trichinosis had been reported in the country of Bolivia for several years. [this is footnoted from "Veterinary Parasitology" May 1993] However, 25% of pigs tested were infested with trichinosis. People working on these farms and the population eating the pigs were also found to be positive for infestation with this parasite. The primary symptoms of this infection include muscle pain, headaches, fever and swelling in the extremities.[foot noted Baker, Bryant, Urban, and Lumney, "Swine Immunity to Selected Parasites", "Veterinary Immunology and Immunopathology" October 1994] These are all nonspecific symptoms that do not necessarily indicate any one disease. Although this may explain why the trichinosis had not been diagnosed in Bolivia for several years, it is strong circumstantial evidence that many people became ill because of pork.
Dr. W.J. Zimmerman reviewed the diaphragm muscle from multiple autopsies done in the U.S. in the late 1960"s, and reported that trichinosis was not an unusual finding. [footnoted Zimmerman, Steele, And Kagan, "Trichiniases in the U.S. Population, 1966-70: Prevalence and Epidemiologic Factors", Health Services Reports 88:7 Aug/Sept 1973] It is well accepted that illnesses caused by parasites have a significant economic effect worldwide.
In the U.S., three of the six most common food-borne parasitic diseases of humans are associated with pork consumption. These include toxoplasmosis, taeniases or cysticercosis [caused by the pork tapeworm Taenia solium] and trichinellosis.
In Japan, the source of these infections was traced to the flesh of pigs, bears, horses, racoons and foxes. All of these animals are listed in Scripture as putrid or unclean.
Swine are also good incubators of toxic parasites and viruses- although the animal doesn't appear to be ill while carrying these diseases. A scientist at the University of Giessen's Institute for Virology in Germany showed in a study of worldwide influenza epidemics that pigs are the one animal that can serve as a mixing vessel for new influenza viruses that may seriously threaten world health.
If a pig is exposed to a human's DNA virus and then a bird's virus, the pig mixes the two viruses - developing a new DNA virus that is often extremely lethal for humans. These viruses have already caused worldwide epidemics and destruction. Virologists have concluded that if we do not find a way to separate humans from pigs, the whole earth's population may be at risk. [footnoted Scholtissek,M.D., "Cultivating a Killer Virus" National History Jan. 1992]
The 1942 Yearbook of Agriculture reported that 50 diseases were found in pigs, and many of these were passed on to humans by eating the pig's flesh.
Additionally, just the handling of swine has an element of risk. A large hog-raising facility in the area where I live wisely requires its employees to wear gloves, masks and protective clothing while working in the pig barns. The workers are required to shower each day before going home.
Little wonder that GOD would inspire His prophet to include eating pork among the disobedient acts of stubborn people in addition to idolatry and conjuring spirits of the dead, "a people who continually provoke Me to My face,...who eat the flesh of pigs, and whose pots hold broth of unclean meat" [Isa. 65:3,4]"

(Our note: This gentleman is not a Messianic believer and therefore most likely doesn't understand the spiritual, as well as physical concepts, of following the Kosher laws, but nevertheless this is an interesting article. We believe he may be avoiding pork, right now, mainly out of fear, but that doesn't mean that G-d isn't bringing him to a fuller understanding at a later point. After all you have to start somewhere!)
Dear friends:
(This will make you think!)
On March 15, 2000 I posted a news item saying that "cloned pigs could provide organs for transplants into humans on the NHS within six years, it emerged yesterday.." I commented: "If pigs were an abomination in the ancient Jewish temple, how much more will they be an abomination being made a part of G-d's New covenant temple--our bodies! six years away? For this and many other reasons, I suspect G-d will pull down the curtain before then and say, 'No more.'"
Combining swine flesh with human flesh will not just be a spiritual abomination, there are also extreme concerns physically, no doubt why G-d did not (DOES NOT) allow eating of swine. I used to think that G-d had this restriction about pigs, only to protect those poor, primitive Israelites, from the deadly trichinella worms found in swine. But we modern, sophisticated humans are so smart that we do not have this problem. Yeah, right!
Not true, according to Dr. Gordon S. Tessler, in his excellent book, "The Genesis Diet," He says:
"Obviously, the indiscriminate eating patterns of omnivores like pigs, make them disease carriers. Pigs are known to carry up to 200 diseases and 18 different parasites and worms, including the deadly worm called trichinella spiralis. This worm is commonly called trichinosis and there is no known cure for these spiral worms. The trichinae worms are so small and transparent that only trained inspectors using high-powered microscopes can detect their existence. Trichinosis can cripple or even kill anyone that eats as little as a forkful of contaminated food! Trichinosis can mimic other diseases such as arthritis, rheumatism, or typhoid fever. (NOTE: On his video, Dr. Tessler says that even cooking does not kill the trichinae worm!)
"Pigs have more incidences of arthritis than any other known animals in the world. Arthritis may be a virus or a parasite that is transmitted from pigs to humans as a direct result of eating the flesh and blood of hogs and pigs. Perhaps many other diseases are misdiagnosed and their real cause is roundworms, gullet worms, hookworms, thorn-headed worms, trichina worms, stomach worms, nodular worms, tapeworms, as well as many other parasites found in the flesh of the unclean swine. A person may be committing slow suicide when he or she eats bacon, ham, sausage, or pork chops.
"Even hog farmers who insist that corn fed hogs are safe won't give you a guarantee that their indoor hogs haven't eaten any rats, mice, fecal waste, or maggots within the past few days. The metal doorknobs in pig nurseries, become corroded after a year or so, due to the gases produced by the pigs urine and feces. The same gas and pig dander that eat away metal doorknobs are harming the respiratory tracts of hog farmers. Their unusually high incidences of respiratory ailments, from coughing and sniffles to lung scarring and pneumonia can no longer be attributed to weather and allergies alone. The hog waste spills from hog farms are contaminating our land, our rivers, and our water supply. Pork should be considered a homotoxin (human poison) and the probable cause of many common sicknesses and degenerative diseases.
"The Great Physician, the Creator of all life, admonishes us to separate the clean animals from the unclean, for physical health and well being. Many faithful church people who would never defile G-d's temple with cigarettes, even though smoking is not mentioned in the Bible, continue to ingest bacon, ham and pork chops which are disease-carrying, parasite-infested unclean foods which G-d commands His children not to eat! It would be futile and absurd to ask G-d to bless the smoking of cigarettes, yet we pray that He bless a pork chop on our dinner plate! Can we expect our Creator to disregard His word to us so we can indulge our appetites?"
Dr. Tessler's book, "The Genesis Diet" and his video, "Eating G-d's Way" are highly recommended.......

Patented Design Provides Complete Control Over Cooking Temperatures.
If you have ever wondered what the best way to cook "off the grid", this message will be very important to read.
Here is why:
Many people call our company and ask “How do I cook when the power is off?” Well, we think we’ve found the most amazing and affordable way yet. I believe this is the best cooking solution for 90% of American families. We call it the “Crisis Cooker” and it is without a doubt the best survival cooker ever made.
The Crisis Cooker is a highly efficient charcoal, wood or propane cooker that allows you to boil, grill, fry or bake using a fraction of the fuel that other systems use. You can cook an entire meal with as little as 6 briquettes (even a Thanksgiving turkey dinner can be cooked with only 12!) – less than one tenth of the fuel you would use on a conventional charcoal grill and far less than you would use in a wood cook stove.
I am looking forward to giving you all a first hand review on this product if all goes well.
1830 Beaver Trapping
as Francois talks about Trapping Beaver.
Enjoy as we travel back in time to 1830's Oregon Territory to learn about trapping beaver from Hudson's Bay Company French Canadian trapper Francois (Scott). Not all trappers were lone woodsmen draped in dead animals, this video will dispel the hollywood version of the "mountain man". Stop by and checkout more of Scott's videos at Living History School channel.

From the Army!

The Army is finally going to give soldiers the green light to paint their black weapons so they blend in with the terrain on the battlefield. Soldiers have been using commercially available, spray-on camouflage paint since the beginning of the war — despite an unenforced Army policy prohibiting the practice.Army weapons officials announced March 2 they will soon release guidelines on the proper way to paint M4 Carbines and other weapons so paint doesn’t interfere with the weapon’s operation.Posted : Monday Mar 15, 2010 7:44:40 EDT
“The soldiers are doing it anyway; if you go to theater, you will see that units have their weapons sprayed,” said Col. Doug Tamilio, head of Project Manager Soldier Weapons. The reversal of the policy follows the Army’s Feb. 19 decision to start issuing MultiCam camouflage uniforms and equipment to soldiers deploying to Afghanistan this summer in an effort to help soldiers blend more effectively with the Afghan terrain. Most Army infantry weapons are black.
“It sticks out, and we need to give them that ability,” Tamilio said. “We should issue out in the next couple of months an advisory message ... to say, ‘It’s OK to spray paint your weapons, but here is how to do it.The guidelines will identify parts of the weapons that should not be painted, such as inside the chamber and accessories such as optics.“If you get any spray on these optics, you reduce the capability of that optic,” Tamilio said. The guidelines will also recommend the safest paints to use.
Weapons officials stressed that soldiers will have to get approval from their unit commanders before they paint their weapons.“It will be up to the commander to say we are going to do it or we are not going to do it,” Tamilio said.
