All Americans should be given this lesson. Those who think that America is an arrogant nation should really reconsider that thought. Our founding fathers used GOD's word and teachings to establish our Great Nation and I think it's high time Americans get re-educated about this Nation's history.

Pass it along and be proud of the country we live in and even more proud of those who serve to protect our 'GOD GIVEN' rights and freedoms.

I hope you take the time to read this ... To understand what the flag draped coffin really means .... Here is how to understand the flag that laid upon it and is surrendered to so many widows and widowers.

Do you know that at military funerals, the 21-gun salute stands for the sum of the numbers in the year 1776?

Have you ever noticed the honor guard pays meticulous attention to correctly folding the United States of America Flag 13 times? You probably thought it was to symbolize the original 13 colonies, but we learn something new every day!

The 1st fold of the flag is a symbol of life.

The 2nd fold is a symbol of the belief in eternal life

The 3rd fold is made in honor and remembrance of the veterans departing the ranks who gave a portion of their lives for the defense of the country to attain peace throughout the world.

The 4th fold represents the weaker nature, for as American citizens trusting in God, it is to Him we turn in times of peace as well as in time of war for His divine guidance.

The 5th fold is a tribute to the country, for in the words of Stephen Decatur, 'Our Country, in dealing with other countries, may she always be right; but it is still our country, right or wrong.'

The 6th fold is for where people's hearts lie. It is with their heart that they pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America , and the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.

The 7th fold is a tribute to its Armed Forces, for it is through the Armed Forces that they protect their country and their flag against all her enemies, whether they be found within or without the boundaries of their republic.

The 8th fold is a tribute to the one who entered into the valley of the shadow of death, that we might see the light of day.

The 9th fold is a tribute to womanhood, and Mothers. For it has been through their faith, their love, loyalty and devotion that the character of the men and women who have made this country great has been molded.

The 10th fold is a tribute to the father, for he, too, has given his sons and daughters for the defense of their country since they were first born.

The 11th fold represents the lower portion of the seal of King David and King Solomon and glorifies in the Hebrews eyes, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

The 12th fold represents an emblem of eternity and glorifies, in the Christians eyes, God the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit.

The 13th fold, or when the flag is completely folded, the stars are uppermost reminding them of their Nations motto, 'In God We Trust.'

After the flag is completely folded and tucked in, it takes on the appearance of a cocked hat, ever reminding us of the soldiers who served under General George Washington, and the Sailors and Marines who served under Captain John Paul Jones, who were followed by their comrades and shipmates in the Armed Forces of the United States, preserving for them the rights, privileges and freedoms they enjoy today.

There are some traditions and ways of doing things that have deep meaning. In the future, you'll see flags folded and now you will know why. Share this with the children you love and all others who love what is referred to, the symbol of ' Liberty and Freedom.'

MAYBE THE SUPREME COURT SHOULD READ THIS EXPLANATION BEFORE THEY RENDER THEIR DECISION ON THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. FORWARD IT; MAYBE SOMEONE WITH THE NECESSARY POWER, OR POLITICAL AND FINANCIAL INFLUENCE, WILL GET IT TO THEM. IN THE MEANTIME, MAY GOD PROTECT US ALWAYS.

This is also on the wall of the editor of the Omaha Herald paper. How many other paper would have the guts to put this picture and story on the front page.

Leading the fight is U S Marine Gunnery Sgt. Michael Burghardt, known as 'Iron Mike' or just 'Gunny'.

He had become a legend in the bomb disposal world after winning the Bronze Star for disabling 64 IEDs and destroying 1,548 pieces of ordnance during his second tour.
Then, on September 19, he got blown up. He had arrived at a chaotic scene after a bomb had killed four US Marines. He chose not to wear the bulky bomb protection suit. 'You can't react to any sniper fire and you get tunnel-vision,' he explains. So, protected by just a helmet and standard-issue flak jacket, he began what bomb disposal officers term 'the longest walk', stepping gingerly into a 5 foot deep and 8 foot wide crater. The earth shifted slightly and he saw a Senao base station with a wire leading from it. He cut the wire and used his 7 inch knife to probe the ground. 'I found a piece of red detonating cord between my legs,' he says. 'That's when I knew I was screwed.' Realizing he had been sucked into a trap, Sgt. Burghardt, 35, yelled at everyone to stay back. At that moment, an insurgent, probably watching through binoculars, pressed a button on his mobile phone to detonate the secondary device below the sergeant's feet 'A chill went up the back of my neck and then the bomb exploded,' he recalls. 'As I was in the air I remember thinking, 'I don't believe they got me..' I was just ticked off they were able to do it. Then I was lying on the road, not able to feel anything from the waist down.' His fellow Marines cut off his trousers to see how badly he was hurt. None could believe his legs were still there 'My dad's a Vietnam vet who's paralyzed from the waist down,' says Sgt Burghardt. 'I was lying there thinking I didn't want to be in a wheelchair next to my dad and for him to see me like that. They started to cut away my pants and I felt a real sharp pain and blood trickling down. Then I wiggled my toes and I thought, 'Good, I'm in business.' As a stretcher was brought over, adrenaline and anger kicked in. 'I decided to walk to the helicopter. I wasn't going to let my team-mates see me being carried away on a stretcher.' He stood and gave the insurgents who had blown him up a one-fingered salute. ‘I flipped them one’. It was like, 'OK, I lost that round but I'll be back next week.'

Copies of a photograph depicting his defiance, taken by Jeff Bundy for the Omaha World-Herald, adorn the walls of homes across America and that of Col John Gronski, the brigade commander in Ramadi, who has hailed the image as an exemplar of the warrior spirit.

Sgt Burghardt's injuries - burns and wounds to his legs and buttocks - kept him off duty for nearly a month and could have earned him a ticket home. But, like his father - who was awarded a Bronze Star and three Purple Hearts for being wounded in action in Vietnam - he stayed in Ramadi to engage in the battle against insurgents who are forever coming up with more ingenious ways of killing Americans.

Not sure how most of you all feel but I wanted to share as we all have a say in life. Thank you Wendy for Sharing this with me.

Our military is by far the most under paidand supported of goverment and yet congress is so over paid and over supported.

That is just wrong.

No one has been able to explain to me why young men and women serve in the U.S. Military for 20 years, risking their lives protecting freedom, and only get 50% of their pay. While Politicians hold their political positions in the safe confines of the capital, protected by these same men and women, and receive full pay retirement after serving one term. It just does not make any sense.

Monday on Fox news they learned that the staffers of Congress family members are exempt from having to pay back student loans. This will get national attention if other news networks will broadcast it. When you add this to the below, just where will all of it stop?

35 States file lawsuit against the Federal Government... Governors of 35 states have filed suit against the Federal Government for imposing unlawful burdens upon them. It only takes 38 (of the 50) States to convene a Constitutional Convention. This will take less than thirty seconds to read. If you agree, pass it on. This is an idea that we should address.

For too long we have been too complacent about the workings of Congress. Many citizens had no idea that members of Congress could retire with the same pay after only one term, that they specifically exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed (such being exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment)while ordinary citizens must live under those laws. The latest is to exempt themselves from the Healthcare Reform... in all of its forms. Somehow, that doesn't seem logical. We do not have an elite that is above the law. I truly don't care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent or whatever. The self-serving must stop.

If each person that reads this will forward or tell it to 20 people, in three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message...

This is one proposal that really should be passed around.

"Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States."

Was Tina Dying in My Arms?

You missed all my excitement last nite. My Tina had babies, 2 but only 1 made it. :( The other one is a tiny black one ... Of course I did not know she was expecting puppies. I even took her to the Vet on the 17th. For a rabies shot. Doctor said nothing about why I was worried about Tina putting on so much weight. Apparently Tina got hooked up with a male about 4 days before I got her. The past owners have not called me back so I figure they know or knew about.

Any way here is a short short.... Yesterday the 19th of March, Tina is coiled up on the couch, relaxing and I or course was on the computer. Some bad weather was coming in then there was a thunder clap. "Bam" . Tina come running over to me and jumped into my lap and then I picked her up an cradled her in my arms, She seemed really nervous, I asked if she wanted to go outside before the rain came on in. I looked away and back at Tina. I was in horror I knew Tina had a upset stomach so I thought earlier that morning, even had to give her a bath because so was all green from the back half of her. So now I am just staring at Tina and this mess that just popped out her. I was panicking I just thought her gut just came out! While asking Tina if she was alright my mind is racing trying to make sense of all this. As I looked closer I decided that there was something is that bag of mess that looked like a puppy.... How that happen Tina? After I asking her if she wanted out side I had quickly put a leash on her collar and had stepped out side with Tina, that was went I had looked away. Now I quickly decided to put Tina in the corn of the bedroom with a blanket... I was going crazy and I was by myself and Tina and now one or more puppies on the way... the Marine Corps did not teach me how to do this ... nor did Mom. :) So now I am looking for a name for the baby that means "Black Thunder", any ideas?

* The second puppy died after 24 hours - To say the least Tina and I are heart broken. :( But now when we hear the thunder it will always remind us of her!

The Grumman Goose first took to the skies in 1936 during the golden years of aviation and was immortalised in the TV series "Tales of the Gold Monkey". Within the sim fraternity there have been a number of addon versions of this classic aeroplane and Microsoft's rendition of this rare and famous aircraft leapt into our simulated skies towards the end of 2006 with the release of the final version of their long running simulator series - FSX.

The Grumman Goose itself is extremely rare with only 345 airframes produced. There are approximately 60 remaining in service throughout the world today and the number of pilots with endorsements on this type are few and far between. We have been lucky enough to have access to a pilot who has flown the Goose and has been able to assist with our remodelling of the aircraft's performance files.
The Goose has proven extremely versatile and has seen operational service as a freighter, passenger transport, military transport and even as a flying yacht installed with bars and toilets. It has held roles with Army, Airforce, Navy, Coastguard and has served around the far flung, four corners of the world.

Microsoft's model of the G21A Grumman Goose has been a sleeper; well received in certain quarters but providing generally ho-hum graphics and flight model. It had a bland interior and was crying out for some high quality paints. When the team at AussieX started investigating this aircraft for our HD Redux treatment it was also discovered that the performance files for this bird were derived from an assortment of different Goose models; a lot of fine tuning was going to be required to get this bird to behave as close to the real life aircraft as possible.

We think we have succeeded with this ambitous tasking. We offer two different models of the Goose - the original model with 450hp Pratt & Whitney radials and an uprated version dubbed the 'HP' (High Performance) with more powerful 650hp engines. Both models have had significant performance tweaking to make them behave as much as possible like their real life counterparts. In addition to this remodelling of the flight characteristics we have overhauled the interior of the aircraft with high resolution virtual cockpits. Engine gauges have been recalibrated for both engine models of our Goose and there are a number of different virtual cockpits available in our aircraft.

Finally we have provided six high-definition paint schemes for this aircraft in both 450hp and HP-650hp versions. These 4096 pixel textures include every rivet, screw, dent and panel-line hand placed on normal, specular and diffusion texture maps. What this means for you the pilot is a gorgeous rendition of the metal framed G21 Goose just waiting to grace your monitor with realism and authenticity.

Today Tina is 6 years old. We will be having heart shaped white cake and vanilla ice cream. She is nice and comfy on her pillows at the end of the couch next to me. She always keeps track of me, keeping me in-line. She has had a month to train me and teach me how to make her world a sweeter place.

I had this ad for about a week, thinking about it and waiting for my next payday to arrive. My neighbor Holly knew I was stressing myself out over missing my puppies from back home, but did not know about the ad. After a week or so I decided to call even though my payday had not arrived. I called and talked for about half an hour or more trying to see that puppies I could afford. All I could say was, "I am not sure I can afford one but I really missed mine and wanted a tiny little female Chihuahua puppy." After a while we came to the idea that there was a small female Chihuahua, Tiny was her name. She was a rescue puppy from a breeder that kept her in a wired kennel for much of her 4 years. Not yet to have a home to call her own. Holly also found this ad and brought it to me the same day, I called. I told her that I found the same ad and finally called the number. So after some emails back and forth I nailed down I time and place to go get my new puppy, Tiny. This February Tiny will be 6 years, we will celebrate our birthday together on the 18th. Tiny's full name is a mouth full: "Tiny KLM's Dontee Pocketmouse". I am thinking about a shorter name: "Tiny Tina Leigh Elliott". She is just Precious, Sweet and Loving, very easy to spoil. She already has me at her command. :) . If you are looking for some beautiful home grown Chihuahua puppies call this number. Tiny Tina and I are sure glad I did.

Yes I know it has been a while, Winter struck... and I had my laptop recalled. I now living in a nice warm apartment here in Mansfield. Yippee. Sprained my ankle while moving, but finished it in record time. Let me tell you it is so nice to have my laptop back. My friends have all been great helping me get settled in. I still need a few things to make life a little more comfortable but I am doing just fine. As the new year came in, I decided that life is not too bad. I have a Truck, and now a warm apartment. My laptop is back (Yippee) Oh I did say that, guess you know how much it means to me. Have you ever heard the phrase " All my friends live in my computer!", well it is almost true. Some come and go, but a few stay around. Yahoo, Facebook, and email keep me busy. I now have TV and radio, but I still download the shows and watch them on the computer to save me from all the commercials. I need to get down serious and find my Chihuahua. I truly miss my little girls my home (Sugar Marie, Peaches, Susie, and Precious) They are with my Mother and my Ex-Wife. I know they are well loved and cared for. Time to find another sweet girl. Maybe I will catchup with Mellina and Rebbecca soon I hope that would be nice to. that would top off everything and make the world just right. OK Later guys.

She jumped up as soon as she saw the surgeon come out of the operating room. She said: 'How is my little boy? Is he going to be all right? When can I see him?'

The surgeon said, 'I'm sorry. We did all we could, but your boy didn't make it.'

Sally said, 'Why do little children get cancer? Doesn't God care any more? Where were you, God, when my son needed you?'

The surgeon asked, 'Would you like some time alone with your son? One of the nurses will be out in a few minutes, before he's transported to the university.'

Sally asked the nurse to stay with her while she said good bye to son. She ran her fingers lovingly through his thick red curly hair. 'Would you like a lock of his hair?' the nurse asked. Sally nodded yes. The nurse cut a lock of the boy's hair, put it in a plastic bag and handed it to Sally.

The mother said, 'It was Jimmy's idea to donate his body to the University for Study. He said it might help somebody else. ' I said no at first, but Jimmy said, 'Mom, I won't be using it after I die. Maybe it will help some other little boy spend one more day with his Mom.' She went on, 'My Jimmy had a heart of gold. Always thinking of someone else. Always wanting to help others if he could.'

Sally walked out of Children's Mercy Hospital for the last time, after spending most of the last six months there. She put the bag with Jimmy's belongings on the seat beside her in the car.

The drive home was difficult. It was even harder to enter the empty house. She carried Jimmy's belongings, and the plastic bag with the lock of his hair to her son's room.

She started placing the model cars and other personal things back in his room exactly where he had always kept them She lay down across his bed and, hugging his pillow, cried herself to sleep.

It was around midnight when Sally awoke. Lying beside her on the bed was a folded letter. The letter said:

Dear Mom,
I know you're going to miss me; but don't think that I will ever forget you, or stop loving you, just 'cause I'm not around to say 'I Love You'. I will always love you, Mom, even more with each day.. Someday we will see each other again. Until then, if you want to adopt a little boy so you won't be so lonely, that's okay with me. He can have my room and old stuff to play with. But, if you decide to get a girl instead, she probably wouldn't like the same things us boys do. You'll have to buy her dolls and stuff girls like, you know.

Don't be sad thinking about me. This really is a neat place. Grandma and Grandpa met me as soon as I got here and showed me around some, but it will take a long time to see everything. The angels are so cool. I love to watch them fly. And, you know what? Jesus doesn't look like any of his pictures. Yet, when I saw Him, I knew it was Him. Jesus himself took me to see GOD! And guess what, Mom? I got to sit on GOD's knee and talk to Him, like I was somebody important. That's when I told Him that I wanted to write you a letter, to tell you good bye and everything. But I already knew that wasn't allowed. Well, you know what Mom? GOD handed me some paper and His own personal pen to write you this letter I think Gabriel is the name of the angel who is going to drop this letter off to you. GOD said for me to give you the answer to one of the questions you asked Him 'where was He when I needed him?' GOD said 'He was in the same place with me, as when His son Jesus was on the cross. He was right there, as He always is with all His children.'

Oh, by the way, Mom, no one else can see what I've written except you. To everyone else this is just a blank piece of paper. Isn't that cool? I have to give GOD His pen back now He needs it to write some more names in the Book of Life. Tonight I get to sit at the table with Jesus for supper. I'm sure the food will be great.

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you. I don't hurt anymore the cancer is all gone.. I'm glad because I couldn't stand that pain anymore and GOD couldn't stand to see me hurt so much, either. That's when He sent The Angel of Mercy to come get me. The Angel said "I was a Special Delivery!" How about that?

I Stumbled Across a Hunter Pistol

Tricorder is a Trekkie geek toy that turns your Android phone into a Tricorder. However, it's not totally a toy, as it uses real data from your phone's sensors -- you may be surprised at how many sensors your phone has. Currently it can display acceleration; the local magnetic field; an analysis of the local acoustic environment; your location from various providers; the availability and strength of cellular and WiFi signals; and the current state of the Sun and solar wind, including current pictures of the Sun.

Accuracy is limited to what the sensors can provide. In particular the magnetic field sensor on the G1 phone seems to be pretty erratic, though it sometimes works quite well; on the Droid, it seems to have some pretty serious issues. This will affect both the MAG tab and the compass in the GEO tab.

How to Use¶

Use the buttons on the left to select the mode:

* GRAV: monitor the local gravitational field and acceleration
* MAG: monitor the local magnetic field
* ACO: acoustic analysis; waveform, frequency and sound level analysis of the ambient sound
* GEO: display geographical information (enable GPS for full info)
* EMS: scan the electromagnetic spectrum for radio signals -- currently displays cellular and WiFi signals (you have to enable the WiFi to get the latter)
* SOL: display current solar activity data -- downloads current solar data in the background (may take a while) and displays it along with current images. The gravitational and magnetic field displays show the corresponding field information as a 3-D plot with X and Y on a cross-axis plot, with the Z value shown beside it. The elevation of the field above or below the X-Y plane is shown on a separate indicator. The absolute magnitude of the field value is plotted below, and the numeric data is shown below that. Much more detailed information is available in the help pages in the app itself.

Printer Dissatisfaction

A soldier in Iraq called HP to deal with a broken all-in-one printer. He was told he'd have to pay them in order to learn how to fix it. These are the subsequent events that follow... This video was originally sent to HP directly in 2006. HP resolved the issue to the customer's satisfaction more than four years ago. HP also instituted a "no questions asked" technical support policy for all active duty soldiers and provides phone support at no charge even if the product is out of warranty.

This policy remains in place today. Regards, CEO Customer Relations.

I personally agree with the soldiers' actions. If he was instructed to call HP directly for support. HP should not have even blinked. The management of HP should have solved this on the spot. I know this video has cost them dearly. No amount of Customer Relations can fix this. Even if they bought a new printer and personally took it to him. The system failed. When the price of ink replacement costing more than the printers being produced, (unless you bought a high end model) it is NOT worth a tech support phone call. A new printer model comes out just about every six months or so - just get another one. Cheaper and less headaches in the long run. The trick is to make a printer that does not fail. Today products are designed to fail, so you keep coming back and buying more. I would rather support a company that believes doing it right, building it to last. I buy Canon printers myself.

I live in the United States of America, I am a proud citizen, I served in the United States Marine Corps. I believe and worship in GOD. My Freedom was not free, many Americans paid dearly for (your and my) freedom.

I have been told that 86% of Americans do the same. Therefore I have a very hard time understanding why there is such a problem in having 'In GOD! We Trust' on our money and having 'GOD' in the Pledge of Allegiance. If Muslims can pray on Madison Avenue, why are Christians banned from praying in public and erecting religious displays on their holy days? What happened to our annual, National Day of Prayer?

Obama says we can't have that, yet Muslims are allowed to block off Madison Ave. in NewYork and pray in the middle of the street! And, it's a monthly ritual!

Tell me again, whose country is this? Ours or the Muslims? I believe it's time we stand up for what we believe... It is time that 86% of Americans in America have the same privilege as the other 14% of the people in America!

You all know by now that my 15 foot trailer is now home to my new addition "Veronica", she is a Hobby Zone beauty. A classic of all time. She is what is called a "Ultra Micro Model". She keeps her weight down to around 1 ounce. Which better than what I can do right now :).

I have found a new friend named Dylan, He is my contact at RC Lab Fun. Right off the bat you can tell he loves RC planes and flying. He has several model modifications for Veronica. He backs up a lot of what is on his site with You Tube videos and articles to get you grounded on the information you need to keep you flying and enjoying the hobby. He does not have everything to rebuild Veronica if I have a 'Oops', but he has a lot of nice parts to help. Below is a video showing how to add a 3 blade prop to one of Veronica's cousins. Dylan has 32 videos on his channel right now.

A wealthy man and his son loved to collect rare works of art. They had
everything in their collection, from Picassoto Raphael. They would often sit
together and admire the great works of art..

When the Vietnam conflict broke out, the son went to war. He was very courageous and died in battle while rescuing another soldier. The father was notified and grieved deeply for his only son. About a month later, just before Christmas, There was a knock at the door. A young man stood at the door with a large package in his hands..

He said, 'Sir, you don't know me, but I am the soldier for whom your son gave his life. He saved many lives that day, and he was carrying me to safety when a bullet struck him in the heart and he died instantly... He often talked about you, and your love for art.'

The young man held out this package. 'I know this isn't much. I'm not really a great artist, but I think your son would have wanted you to have this.' The father opened the package. It was a portrait of his son, painted by the young man. He stared in awe at the way the soldier had captured the personality of his son in the painting. The father was so drawn to the eyes that his own eyes welled up with tears. He thanked the young man and offered to pay him for the picture..'Oh, no sir, I could never repay what your son did for me. It's a gift.'

The father hung the portrait over his mantle. Every time visitors came to his home he took them to see the portrait of his son before he showed them any of the other great works he had collected. The man died a few months later.

There was to be a great auction of his paintings. Many influential people gathered, excited over seeing the great paintings and having an opportunity to purchase one for their collection. On the platform sat the painting of the son. The auctioneer pounded his gavel. 'We will start the bidding with this picture of the son. Who will bid for this picture?'

There was silence... Then a voice in the back of the room shouted, 'We want to see the famous paintings. skip this one.' But the auctioneer persisted. 'Will somebody bid for this painting? Who will start the bidding? $100, $200?' Another voice angrily. 'We didn't come to see this painting. We came to see the Van Gogh's, the Rembrandts. Get on with the Real bids!' But still the auctioneer continued. 'The son! The son! Who'll take the son?'

Finally, a voice came from the very back of the room. It was the longtime gardener of the man and his son. 'I'll give $10 for the painting...' Being a poor man, it was all he could afford. 'We have $10, who will bid $20?' 'Give it to him for $10. Let's see the masters.' The crowd was becoming angry. They didn't want the picture of the son. They wanted the more worthy investments for their collections.

The auctioneer pounded the gavel.. 'Going once, twice, SOLD for $10!' A man sitting on the second row shouted, 'Now let's get on with the collection!' The auctioneer laid down his gavel. 'I'm sorry, the auction is over.'

'What about the paintings? ' 'I am sorry. When I was called to conduct this auction, I was told of a secret stipulation in the will... I was not allowed to reveal that stipulation until this time. Only the painting of the son would be auctioned. Whoever bought that painting would inherit the entire estate, including the paintings. The man who took the son gets everything!'

God gave His son 2,000 years ago to die on the cross. Much like the auctioneer, His message is still the same today is: 'The son, the son, who'll take the son?' Because, you see, whoever takes the Son gets everything.

FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, WHO SO EVER BELIEVETH, SHALL HAVE ETERNAL LIFE...

It All Harold's Fault...

He bought one first.... LOL No really I have been looking all summer long trying to convince myself to buy one. Harold did I great selling job on this model. The price was right and the funds were there. So it all fell into place. I ordered it or should I say requested one too. Our friend "Rick" was in Springfield, Missouri today, So Harold gave him a call and asked if he would play the "Brown Santa" today.I understand Byron ordered one too. So either today or Sunday I will see my new "Champ". It is a cute little airplane. Everything is included in the box. It is just the right size for my 15 foot trailer, she has a 20" wingspan. It looks a lot like the Cessna Piper J3 Cub. But it was model after the Aeronca Champion , is a single-engine, two-seat, fixed conventional gear airplane. Designed for flight training and personal use, it entered production in the United States in 1945. The Champ by Hobby-Zone is a RTF (Ready to Fly) model, like I said earlier it has everything you need to fly already in the box including the batteries for the transmitter box. Below is a video introducing the The Aeronca, which I will affectionately call "Veronica" after 1950's cartoon. Yep just got a call from Harold and confirmed it should be here within the hour or so... Gotta Run, see ya all later. Watch out Wally World I coming....

In addition to communicating with the local Air Traffic Control facility, all aircraft in the Persian Gulf AOR are required to give the Iranian Air Defense Radar (military) a ten minute 'heads up' if they will be transiting Iranian airspace.

The following conversation was heard on the VHF Guard (emergency) frequency 121.5 MHz

Iranian Air Defense Radar: 'Unknown aircraft you are in Iranian airspace.  Identify yourself.'
Aircraft:   'This is a United States aircraft.  I am in Iraqi airspace.'
Iranian Air Defense Radar:   'You are in Iranian airspace.   If you do not depart our airspace we will launch interceptor aircraft!'
Aircraft:   'This is a United States Marine Corps FA-18 fighter.  Send 'em up, I'll wait.'

It has come to my attention (1) that soon Obama is going to honor Jane Fonda as one of the:

'100 Women of the Century.'

Please give me a break. I believe that with you have done wrong, you are to pay for your mistakes. If I am wrong please do correct me. Jane Fonda aka Hanoi Jane has not done so. I believe we should forgive and love her as anyone should do for their "Enemy", but to reward her! Come on now.

She may have done something to try to makes amends for her past, but I am sure giving her this award is certainly not the right gesture for her!!

I was in high school at the time Jane Fonda performed these acts against our people. Upset about the way our troops were being mistreated and abused by our own people which Jane Fonda fueled the fire. I joined the Marine Corps in a 280 day delay program, so I could get my two cents in. I have included a link to covered her betrayal to our troops and our country. As a Vietnam Veteran I was, and am ashamed of the way I and fellow Vietnam Veterans were and are still being treated. As American soldiers we did what our President and our Congress asked of us. Many of us did not return, and the ones that did, were and are still cruelty treated even today. It almost seems like our President of the United States of America is getting in bed the the "Enemy", so to speak.

Giving Jane Fonda this reward is WRONG, anyway you look at it.

Please I not only ask but demand that is not done.

So they ideas and values we have had here, are as important now that ever before. Let us join Australia as we once again declare our values and stand United under one GOD.

The Australian Prime Minister does it again!!

Prime Minister of Australia, Kevin Rudd. Isn't backing down on his hard line stance and one has to appreciate his belief in the rights of his native countrymen. A breath of fresh air to see someone lead. I wish some leaders would step up in USA. Truer words have never been spoken. It took a lot of courage for this man to speak what he had to say for the world to hear. The retribution could be phenomenal, but at least he was willing to take a stand on his and Australia 's beliefs. America needs a leader like this!

Rudd angered some Australian Muslims by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote:

On Saturday, October 30, 2010, the Opera Company of Philadelphia brought together over 650 choristers from 28 participating organizations to perform one of the Knight Foundation's "Random Acts of Culture" at Macy's in Center City Philadelphia. Accompanied by the Wanamaker Organ - the world's largest pipe organ - the OCP Chorus and throngs of singers from the community infiltrated the store as shoppers, and burst into a pop-up rendition of the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's "Messiah" at 12 noon, to the delight of surprised shoppers. This event is one of 1,000 "Random Acts of Culture" to be funded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation over the next three years. The initiative transports the classical arts out of the concert halls and opera houses and into our communities to enrich our everyday lives. Why are Americans so united? They would not resemble one another even if you painted them all one color! They speak all the languages of the world and form an astonishing mixture of civilizations and religious beliefs.

On 9/ll, the American tragedy turned three hundred million people into a hand put on the heart. Nobody rushed to accuse the White House, the Army, or the Secret Service that they are only a bunch of losers. Nobody rushed to empty their bank accounts. Nobody rushed out onto the streets nearby to gape about.

Instead the Americans volunteered to donate blood and to give a helping hand.

After the first moments of panic, they raised their flag over the smoking ruins, putting on T-shirts, caps and ties in the colors of the national flag. They placed flags on buildings and cars as if in every place and on every car a government official or the president was passing. On every occasion, they started singing: 'God Bless America !'

I watched the live broadcast and rerun after rerun for hours listening to the story of the guy who went down one hundred floors with a woman in a wheelchair without knowing who she was, or of the Californian hockey player, who gave his life fighting with the terrorists and prevented the plane from hitting a target that could have killed other hundreds or thousands of people.

How on earth were they able to respond united as one human being? Imperceptibly, with every word and musical note, the memory of some turned into a modern myth of tragic heroes. And with every phone call, millions and millions of dollars were put into collection aimed at rewarding not a man or a family, but a spirit, which no money can buy. What on earth unites the Americans in such a way? Their land? Their history? Their economic Power? Money? I tried for hours to find an answer, humming songs and murmuring phrases with the risk of sounding commonplace, I thought things over, I reached but only one conclusion...

Only freedom can work such miracles.

What are the top 5 Calibers?

Below is some of the material he wrote: From my opinion, pistols need to serve a dual role purpose - just like rifles or shotguns. Whether its on your hip while walking around the yard, or in your hand while hog or deer hunting, be sure to pick a caliber that will get the job done.

5. 22 Long rifle - inexpensive, light weight, takes care of small pest with little or no problems. The light recoil makes the 22 a great choice for small framed adults, teenagers learning to shoot and people who do not like the recoil of the larger calibers.

One of the big bonuses of the 22 long rifle, it can be shot out of a pistol or rifle, this makes it a dual role caliber. From a stockpiling point of view, and you intend for everyone in your group to be armed, the most inexpensive route is the 22 long rifle. When a brick of 550 rounds cost between $12 - $20, its cost effective to stockpile thousands of 22 rounds. For $200 someone could probably buy more 22 long rifle then they will shoot in a 10 years - do that with 9mm, 40S&w, 45ACP or 357Sig.

4. 38 Special - less recoil then the 357 magnum, can be shot out of pistols and rifles chambered for 357 magnum, easy to reload. From my reloading experience, the 38 special can use 6 grains of unique, which is the same charge that I used for the 9mm. With 6,000 grains in a pound of powder, that means you can get around 1,000 38 special loads from 1 pound of unique.

Stockpiling the 38 special - a lot of police still use the 38 special to qualify their officers, this makes 38 special brass easy to find. If your looking for a cheap, easy to find, easy to reload round to stockpile, the 38 special is going to be difficult to beat. I remember going to gun shows and seeing 38 special brass by the5 gallon bucket load.

Its the light recoil, abundance of brass for reloading, ease of reloading and ability to shoot out of firearms chambered for 357 magnum that puts the 38 special at #4.

3. and 2. - Tied between the 9mm and 45ACP - If you think the 9mm is better then the 45ACP, thats fine. If you like the 45ACP over the 9mm, thats fine also. The 9mm and 45ACP have to share the # 2 & #3 spots for the best round for survivalist. Their both easy to reload, brass is easily available, and sometimes you can find good deals on bulk ammo.

Back when I was reloading, a buddy of mine and I, we both had a progressive reloading presses setup in the same shop. My buddy had a Lee and I had an RCBS Rock Chucker with a Piggyback. In 1 hour we could load 1,000 rounds of 9mm. Their were 2 of us working the presses - 1 person per press, and a third person was keeping the powder hoppers filled up, keeping the brass on hand and the primers ready to go. We were using 6 grains of unique, small pistol primers and Remington 115 grain round nose. We would all pitch in and buy bullets in bulk from Midway USA. Back in the mid - late 1990s Midway used to have a case of 5,000 9mm bullets - that is what we would buy. It was not uncommon to load 2,000 - 3,000 rounds of 9mm in a weekend. Then we would switch the presses over to 45ACP, 38 special or 357 magnum and keep loading.

A lot of police officers use the 9mm and 45ACP, so finding brass should not be a problem - just like the 38 special. If you know someone that works for the local police department or sheriffs department, ask them to pick up brass for you next time they qualify with their pistols. There have been a several times when friends brought me 5 gallons buckets of mixed brass from the ranges - 9mm, 45ACP, 357sig, 38 special, 357 magnum,,,,,,. It took a couple of hours to go through all of the brass and sort to the different calibers, but it was worth it.

One of the plus sides to the 9mm and 45ACP, certain companies are making rifles for them as well. Examples include the Marlin camp 9 and camp 45, and the Beretta Px4 Storm.

1. 357 Magnum - despite the "magnum" name, the recoil is manageable, the 357 is chambered in pistols and rifles, its easy to reload and its got enough power to take deer and hog size game, or be able to shoot through a car - which ever one you need to do at the time.

If you do not want a revolver, then there is the Magnum Research Desert Eagle.

If you want a rifle chambered in 357 magnum, there is the Marlin 1894 lever action.

Personally, I shoot a Smith & Wesson model 66 combat magnum.

There is just something about holding and shooting a revolver that a semi-auto can not compare to. The feel of the wooden grips is much better then the plastic grips of most semi-autos, the action of a wheel gun seems smoother then the action of most semi-autos.

Special Mentions:

40 S&W - when the 40 came out, I was one of the people that jumped on the band wagon and bought one. The pistol I owned was the Ruger P91 DC - the DC stood for "decocker." It was stainless steel, double action, 40 S&W.

After shooting a few hundred rounds of 40S&W, I can honestly say that I do not like the recoil. When compared to the 9mm and the 45ACP, the 40S&W seems to have a sharper and most unpleasant recoil. Its the harsh recoil that keep the 40 out of the top 5.

41 Magnum - the 41 magnum offers improved ballistics over the 357 magnum, but at the cost of a larger frame pistol and a little more recoil. Even though the 41 magnum has a lot to offer, it never did catch on like other calibers did.

44 Magnum - Dirty Harry and the term "hand cannon" helped push the 44 magnum to popularity in the 1970s and 1980s. If you need a handgun for bear, then the 44 magnum might be right up your alley. If you need a handgun just about anyone in the family can shoot, the 44 magnum is off the list.

With rifles like the Marlin 1894, maybe the 44 magnum should be considered more of a light rifle round then a heavy pistol cartridge.

357 Sig - for you 357 sig fans out there, here is your special mention, I hope your happy.

Final thoughts:

I'am pretty sure that a lot of people are going to disagree with the 38 special being in the top 5, while the 40S&W only gets a special mention.

When thinking about the #4 spot, there were several things I took into consideration - recoil as one of the main factors. I personally think my 14 year old daughter would be more comfortable shooting a 38 special then a 40S&W.

When reloading, the 38 special can use the same bullets as the 357 magnum. Just order a bunch of 125 grain hollow points, and use them in either the 38 special or 357 magnum.

There was only 2 votes. 1 for Yes and 1 for No. neither votes had a comments. My thoughts on this are the YWYH is a Loving GOD. I have found NO direct message concerning the question. Mary Magdalene led a group of women who were prominent followers of Jesus of Nazareth. They were the main witnesses of all the key events in Jesus' life:

his ministry in Galilee and Judea
the crucifixion
his death
his burial and resurrection.

The idea of women as primary witnesses does not seem very startling to people in the 20th century, but it was a revolutionary concept at the time. The testimony of women was not given the same weight as men's, either personally or in a court of law.

When the Christian stories described Mary Magdalene and the other women as the first witnesses of the Resurrection, they were saying something important about the status of women within Christianity.

The story of Mary Magdalene contains four different episodes:
1 Mary Magdalene as a disciple of Jesus (Luke 8:1-3)
Mary is described as a woman whom Jesus cured of an unspecified illness. She led a group of women who provided for Jesus and his followers from their own financial resources.

2 Mary at the crucifixion (Mark 15:40-41, Luke 23:49, Matthew 27:55-56, John 19:25)
In each of the four accounts of the crucifixion Mary was present, either standing at a distance with other women, or standing near the cross.

Mary found that Jesus’ body was no longer in the tomb. She received a message from an angel and was the first person to see the risen Jesus. She was thus the first witness of the resurrection.

Throughout the centuries, Mary Magdalene was incorrectly portrayed in literature and art as a reformed prostitute. This happened because

Mary Magdalene was confused with the woman with the alabaster jar, described in Luke 7:36-50; the story of this other woman comes just before Mary Magdalene is first mentioned
the woman with the alabaster jar is called a 'sinner', but there is no reason to think that this meant she was a prostitute; in fact, when Luke describes an actual prostitute in 15:30, he uses a different word
Mary Magdalene is described as having a serious illness, but the nature of the illness is unspecified; later celibate male interpreters linked Mary’s illness, her ‘demons’, with her sexuality
Mary was traditionally presented as the sinful woman, contrasting her with Mary of Nazareth, the perfect virgin/mother.

This story as come to me at the right time of the year. I hope it warms you hearts as much as it as warmed mine. Wendy I wish I was there to give you a "Mighty BIG Hug and a Kiss" to Thank You for this story that you send to me. I have spent as least 3 hours reading it and feeling all the love and emotions that these people and this amazing dog felt in this story. Which will bring me to the last line in this post. (Wait for it!)

They told me the big black Lab's name was Reggie, as I looked at him lying in his pen.. The shelter was clean, no-kill, and the people really friendly. I'd only been in the area for six months, but everywhere I went in the small college town, people were welcoming and open. Everyone waves when you pass them on the street. But something was still missing as I attempted to settle in to my new life here, and I thought a dog couldn't hurt. Give me someone to talk to. And I had just seen Reggie's advertisement on the local news. The shelter said they had received numerous calls right after, but they said the people who had come down to see him just didn't look like "Lab people," whatever that meant. They must've thought I did.

But at first, I thought the shelter had misjudged me in giving me Reggie and his things, which consisted of a dog pad, bag of toys almost all of which were brand new tennis balls, his dishes, and a sealed letter from his previous owner. See, Reggie and I didn't really hit it off when we got home.

We struggled for two weeks (which is how long the shelter told me to give him to adjust to his new home). Maybe it was the fact that I was trying to adjust, too. Maybe we were too much alike. For some reason, his stuff (except for the tennis balls --- he wouldn't go anywhere without two stuffed in his mouth) got tossed in with all of my other unpacked boxes. I guess I didn't really think he'd need all his old stuff, that I'd get him new things once he settled in. But it became pretty clear pretty soon that he wasn't going to.

I tried the normal commands the shelter told me he knew, ones like "sit" and "stay" and "come" and "heel," and he'd follow them - when he felt like it. He never really seemed to listen when I called his name --- sure, he'd look in my direction after the fourth or fifth time I said it, but then he'd just go back to doing whatever. When I'd ask again, you could almost see him sigh and then grudgingly obey. This just wasn't going to work.

He chewed a couple shoes and some unpacked boxes. I was a little too stern with him and he resented it, I could tell. The friction got so bad that I couldn't wait for the two weeks to be up, and when it was, I was in full-on search mode for my cell phone amid all of my unpacked stuff. I remembered leaving it on the stack of boxes for the guest room, but I also mumbled, rather cynically, that the "damn dog probably hid it on me."
Finally I found it, but before I could punch up the shelter's number, I also found his pad and other toys
from the shelter...I tossed the pad in Reggie's direction and he snuffed it and wagged, some of the most enthusiasm I'd seen since bringing him home. But then I called, "Hey, Reggie, you like that? Come here and I'll give you a treat." Instead, he sort of glanced in my direction --- maybe "glared" is more accurate --- and then gave a discontented sigh and flopped down .... with his back to me.

Well, that's not going to do it either, I thought. And I punched the shelter phone number.

But I hung up when I saw the sealed envelope. I had completely forgotten about that, too. "Okay, Reggie," I said out loud, "let's see if your previous owner has any advice."

To Whoever Gets My Dog:

Well, I can't say that I'm happy you're reading this, a letter I told the shelter could only be opened by Reggie's new owner. I'm not even happy writing it. If you're reading this, it means I just got back from my last car ride with my Lab after dropping him off at the shelter. He knew something was different. I have packed up his pad and toys before and set them by the back door before a trip, but this time... it's like he knew something was wrong. And something wrong... which is why I have to go to try to make it right.
So let me tell you about my Lab in the hopes that it will help you bond with him and he with you. First, he loves tennis balls. The more the merrier. Sometimes I think he's part squirrel, the way he hordes them. He usually always has two in his mouth, and he tries to get a third in there. Hasn't done it yet. Doesn't matter where you throw them, he'll bound after it, so be careful - really don't do it by any roads. I made that mistake once, and it almost cost him dearly.

Next, commands. Maybe the shelter staff already told you, but I'll go over them again: Reggie knows the obvious ones --- "sit, stay, come, heel." He knows hand signals: "Back" to turn around and go back when you put your hand straight up; and "Over" if you put your hand out right or left. "Shake" for shaking water off, and "Paw" for a high-five. He does "Down" when he feels like lying down --- I bet you could work on that with him some more. He knows "ball" and "food" and "bone" and "treat" like nobody's business. I trained Reggie with small food treats. Nothing opens his ears like little pieces of hot dog. Feeding schedule: twice a day once about seven in the morning, and again at six in the evening. Regular store-bought stuff; the shelter has the brand. He's up on his shots. Call the clinic on 9th Street and update his info with yours; they'll make sure to send you reminders for when he's due. Be forewarned: Reggie hates the vet. Good luck getting him in the car. I don't know how he knows when it's time to go to the vet, but he knows. Finally, give him some time. I've never been married, so it's only been Reggie and me for his whole life. He's gone everywhere with me, so please include him on your daily car rides if you can. He sits well in the backseat, and he doesn't bark or complain. He just loves to be around people, and me most especially. Which means that this transition is going to be hard, with him going to live with someone new. And that's why I need to share one more bit of info with you.... His name's not Reggie. I don't know what made me do it, but when I dropped him off at the shelter, I told them his name was Reggie. He's a smart dog, he'll get used to it and will respond to it, of that I have no doubt. But I just couldn't bear to give them his real name. For me to do that, it seemed so final, that handing him over to the shelter was as good as me admitting that I'd never see him again. And if I end up coming back, getting him, and tearing up this letter, it means everything's fine. But if someone else is reading it, well ... well it means that his new owner should know his real name. It'll help you bond with him. Who knows, maybe you'll even notice a change in his demeanor if he's been giving you problems. His real name is "Tank". Because that is what I drive. Again, if you're reading this and you're from the area, maybe my name has been on the news. I told the shelter that they couldn't make "Reggie" available for adoption until they received word from my company commander. See, my parents are gone, I have no siblings, no one I could've left Tank with ... and it was my only real request of the Army upon my deployment to Iraq, that they make one phone.. call the shelter ... in the "event" ... to tell them that Tank could be put up for adoption. Luckily, my colonel is a dog guy, too, and he knew where my platoon was headed. He said he'd do it personally. And if you're reading this, then he made good on his word. Well, this letter is getting downright depressing, even though, frankly, I'm just writing it for my dog. I couldn't imagine if I was writing it for a wife and kids and family ... but still, Tank has been my family for the last six years, almost as long as the Army has been my family.

And now I hope and pray that you make him part of your family and that he will adjust and come to love you the same way he loved me. That unconditional love from a dog is what I take with me to Iraq as an inspiration to do something selfless, to protect innocent people from those who would do terrible things ... and to keep those terrible people from coming over here. If I have to give up Tank in order to do it, I am glad to have done so. He is my example of service and of love. I hope I honored him by my service to my country and comrades.

All right, that's enough. I deploy this evening and have to drop this letter off at the shelter. I don't think I'll say another good-bye to Tank, though. I cried too much the first time. Maybe I'll peek in on him and see if he finally got that third tennis ball in his mouth. Good luck with Tank. Give him a good home, and give him "an extra kiss goodnight - every night - from me."

Sure I had heard of Paul Mallory, everyone in town knew him, even new people like me. Local kid, killed in Iraq a few months ago and posthumously earning the "Silver Star" when he gave his life to save three buddies. Flags had been at half-mast all summer. I leaned forward in my chair and rested my elbows on my knees, staring at the dog.

"Hey, Tank," I said quietly.

The dog's head whipped up, his ears cocked and his eyes bright.

"C'mere boy."

He was instantly on his feet, his nails clicking on the hardwood floor. He sat in front of me, his head tilted, searching for the name he hadn't heard in months.

"Tank," I whispered.

His tail swished. I kept whispering his name, over and over, and each time, his ears lowered, his eyes softened, and his posture relaxed as a wave of contentment just seemed to flood
him. I stroked his ears, rubbed his shoulders, buried my face into his scruff and hugged him.

"It's me now, Tank, just you and me.

Your old pal gave you to me." Tank reached up and licked my cheek. "So whatdaya say we play some ball ?" Tank tore from my hands and disappeared in the next room. And when he came back, he had three tennis balls in his mouth.

SPEEDING IN Oregon

GOOD ~ Bend ,Oregon. A policeman had a perfect spot to watch for speeders, but wasn't getting many. Then he discovered the problem--a 12-year-old boy was standing up the road with a hand painted sign, which read 'RADAR TRAP AHEAD.' The officer also found the boy had an accomplice who was down the road with a sign reading 'TIPS' and a bucket full of money. (And we used to just sell lemonade!)

BETTER ~ A motorist was mailed a picture of his car speeding through an automated radar post in Pendleton, Oregon. A $40 speeding ticket was included. Being cute, he sent the police department a picture of $40. The police responded with another mailed photo of handcuffs.

BEST ~ A young woman was pulled over for speeding. An Oregon State Trooper walked to her car window, flipping open his ticket book. She said, "I bet you are going to sell me a ticket to the State Trooper's Ball." He replied, " Oregon State Troopers don't have balls." There was a moment of silence. He then closed his book, tipped his hat, got back in his patrol car and left.

No one can make you serve customers well.....that's because great service is a choice. Harvey Mackay, tells a wonderful story about a cab driver that proved this point.

He was waiting in line for a ride at the airport. When a cab pulled up, the first thing Harvey noticed was that the taxi was polished to a bright shine. Smartly dressed in a white shirt, black tie, and freshly pressed black slacks, the cab driver jumped out and rounded the car to open the back passenger door for Harvey ..

He handed my friend a laminated card and said: 'I'm Wally, your driver. While I'm loading your bags in the trunk I'd like you to read my mission statement.'

Taken aback, Harvey read the card.. It said:
Wally's Mission Statement: To get my customers to their destination in the quickest, safest and cheapest way possible in a friendly environment...

This blew Harvey away. Especially when he noticed that the inside of the cab matched the outside. Spotlessly clean!

As he slid behind the wheel, Wally said, 'Would you like a cup of coffee? I have a thermos of regular and one of decaf.' My friend said jokingly, 'No, I d prefer a soft drink.' Wally smiled and said, 'No problem I have a cooler up front with regular and Diet Coke, water and orange juice..' Almost stuttering, Harvey said, 'I'll take a Diet Coke.' Handing him his drink, Wally said, 'If you'd like something to read, I have The Wall Street Journal, Time, Sports Illustrated and USA Today.'

As they were pulling away, Wally handed my friend another laminated card, These are the stations I get and the music they play, if you'd like to listen to the radio.' And as if that weren't enough, Wally told Harvey that he had the air conditioning on and asked if the temperature was comfortable for him. Then he advised Harvey of the best route to his destination for that time of day. He also let him know that he'd be happy to chat and tell him about some of
the sights or, if Harvey preferred, to leave him with his own thoughts.

'Tell me, Wally,' my amazed friend asked the driver, 'have you always served customers like this?' Wally smiled into the rear view mirror. 'No, not always.. In fact, it's only been in the last two years. My first five years driving, I spent most of my time complaining like all the rest of the cabbies do. Then I heard the personal growth guru, Wayne Dyer, on the radio one day. He had just written a book called You'll See It When You Believe It. Dyer said that if you get up in the morning expecting to have a bad day, you'll rarely disappoint yourself. He said, 'Stop complaining! Differentiate yourself from your competition.

Don't be a duck.

Be an eagle.

Ducks quack and complain. Eagles soar above the crowd..'

'That hit me right between the eyes,' said Wally. 'Dyer was really talking about me. I was always quacking and complaining, so I decided to change my attitude and become an eagle. I looked around at the other cabs and their drivers. The cabs were dirty, the drivers were unfriendly, and the customers were unhappy. So I decided to make some changes. I put in a few at a time. When my customers responded well, I did more.' 'I take it that has paid off for you,' Harvey said. 'It sure has,' Wally replied. 'My first year as an eagle, I doubled my income from the previous year. This year I'll probably quadruple it. You were lucky to get me today. I don't sit at cabstands anymore. My customers call me for appointments on my cell phone or leave a message on my answering machine. If I can't pick them up myself, I get a reliable cabbie friend to do it and I take a piece of the action.'

Wally was phenomenal. He was running a limo service out of a Yellow Cab. I 've probably told that story to more than fifty cab drivers over the years, and only two took the idea and ran with it. Whenever I go to their cities, I give them a call. The rest of the drivers quacked like ducks and told me all the reasons they couldn't do any of what I was suggesting..

Wally the Cab Driver made a different choice. He decided to stop quacking like ducks and start soaring like eagles.

How about us? Smile, and the whole world smiles with you... The ball is in our hands! A man reaps what he sows. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up... let us do good to all people.

Ducks Quack, Eagles Soar.

Why 4ft 8.5 inches?

Railroad tracks.

The US standard railroad gauge (distance between the rails) is 4 feet, 8.5 inches. That's an exceedingly odd number.

Why was that gauge used? Because that's the way they built them in England, and English expatriates designed the US railroads.

Why did the English build them like that? Because the first rail lines were built by the same people who built the pre-railroad tramways, and that's the gauge they used.

Why did 'they' use that gauge then? Because the people who built the tramways used the same jigs and tools that they had used for building wagons, which used that wheel spacing.

Why did the wagons have that particular odd wheel spacing? Well, if they tried to use any other spacing, the wagon wheels would break on some of the old, long distance roads in England, because that's the spacing of the wheel ruts.

So who built those old rutted roads? Imperial Rome built the first long distance roads in Europe (including England) for their legions. Those roads have been used ever since.

And the ruts in the roads? Roman war chariots formed the initial ruts, which everyone else had to match for fear of destroying their wagon wheels.

Since the chariots were made for Imperial Rome, they were all alike in the matter of wheel spacing. Therefore the United States standard railroad gauge of 4 feet, 8.5 inches is derived from the original specifications for an Imperial Roman war chariot. Bureaucracies live forever.

So the next time you are handed a specification/procedure/process and wonder 'What horse's ass came up with this?', you may be exactly right. Imperial Roman army chariots were made just wide enough to accommodate the rear ends of two war horses. (Two horses' asses.)

Now, the twist to the story:

When you see a Space Shuttle sitting on its launch pad, there are two big booster rockets attached to the sides of the main fuel tank. These are solid rocket boosters, or SRBs. The SRBs are made by Thiokol at their factory in Utah.

The engineers who designed the SRBs would have preferred to make them a bit fatter, but the SRBs had to be shipped by train from the factory to the launch site. The railroad line from the factory happens to run through a tunnel in the mountains, and the SRBs had to fit through that tunnel. The tunnel is slightly wider than the railroad track, and the railroad track, as you now know, is about as wide as two horses' behinds.

So, a major Space Shuttle design feature of what is arguably the world's most advanced transportation system was determined over two thousand years ago by the width of a horse's ass. And you thought being a horse's ass wasn't important? Ancient horse's asses control almost everything... and the current Horses Asses in Washington are controlling everything else!

Chocolate Pecan Pie Anyone...

Chocolate Pecan Pie from Ghirdelli.

4 ounce(s) Semi-Sweet Chocolate Baking Bar
2 tablespoon(s) unsalted butter
3 eggs
1 cup(s) light corn syrup
1/2 cup(s) light brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon(s) salt
1 1/2 cup(s) pecan halves
1 (9-inch) unbaked piecrust, store-bought or homemade

Convert to metric link...

Directions
Heat oven to 325F. In double boiler over hot water, melt chocolate and butter. In large bowl with electric mixer or whisk, beat eggs, corn syrup, sugar, vanilla and salt until blended; beat in chocolate mixture. Stir in pecans; pour into piecrust. Place pie on baking sheet on middle rack of oven; bake about 55 minutes or until filling is set. Cool completely at room temperature. Cut pie into 8 wedges; serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
For homemade piecrust, in large bowl, stir together 1 cup all-purpose flour and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Add 6 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces. With 2 knives or pastry cutter, cut butter into flour until it is the size of small peas. Add 2 tablespoons very cold water; stir quickly with fork until dough comes together, adding up to 2 more tablespoons water if dough looks too dry. (Be careful not to add too much water, or dough will be tough.) Form into ball, flatten slightly and wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate at least 1 hour before rolling. On lightly floured surface, roll dough into 14-inch circle. Line 9-inch pie pan with dough, cut away excess dough and crimp edge of piecrust. Prick bottom of piecrust all over with fork. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate up to 1 day or freeze up to 1 month before using. Yield: 8 servings.

This piece or thought; I am sure has circled the world once or twice. The author is unknown, but the data and ideas are still very important to think about and understand. Wither you are for gun control or not this is a powerful statement that is felt throughout the world. I was and am a United States Marine so I understand the need to be ready at a moments notice. Nobody ever wins in a fight, but you do have the ability to recover and live another day, I am a child of YWYH (GOD), I believe in the two greatest commandments that was even issued in the world, but somethings you need to practice "tough" love. I'm a firm believer in the 2nd Amendment! These thoughts embellish the reasons why to carry a gun. First I will share some important real world data, then listen to a "Grandpa" share why he carry's his gun.

Turkey established gun control. >From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.

China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

These pictures are taken at the beach in Santa Barbara right next to the pier. There is a veterans group that started putting a cross and candle for every death in Iraq and Afghanistan . The amazing thing is that they only do it on the weekends. They put up this graveyard and take it down every weekend. Guys sleep in the sand next to it and keep watch over it at night so nobody messes with it. Every cross has the name, rank and D.O.B. and D.O.D. on it. Very moving,very powerful??? so many young volunteers. So many 30 to 40 year olds as well. Amazing !

This is the problem: Did you know that the ACLU has filed a suit to have all military cross-shaped headstones removed? And another suit to end prayer from the military completely. They're making great progress. The Navy Chaplains can no longer mention Jesus (Yeshua) name in prayer. Thanks to the ACLU and our new administration. How can will stand by and allow this to happen? Please send this on after a short prayer for our soldiers.

'Heavenly Father, hold our troops in Your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in this our time of need. These things I humbly ask in the name of Yeshua, our Lord and Savior, Amen.'

Of all the gifts you could give a Marine, Soldier, Sailor, Airman, others deployed in harm's way, prayer is the very best one. This needs our Immediate Attention. Please Pray very hard about this. Can you see where this is going?

This was during the Feast of Tabernacles. I enjoyed myself very much and learned a great deal about the feast. I certainly enjoyed the Thanksgiving Feast ;) at the end of the week. Thank you David, Tam and Family, I am so glad be apart of your family.. Maybe next year I will sleep outside - it was far to cold for me... So what am I going to do when winter finally gets here. I think the vast differences in compensation between victims of the September 11 casualty and those who die serving our country in Uniform are profound. No one is really talking about it either, because you just don't criticize anything having to do with September 11. Well, I can't let the numbers pass by because it says something really disturbing about the entitlement mentality of this country. If you lost a family member in the September 11 attack, you're going to get an average of $1,185,000. The range is a minimum guarantee of $250,000, all the way up to $4.7 million..
If you are a surviving family member of an American soldier killed in action,
the first check you get is a $6,000 direct death benefit, half of which is taxable.

Next, you get $1,750 for burial costs. If you are the surviving spouse, you get $833 a month until you remarry. And there's a payment of $211 per month for each child under 18. When the child hits 18, those payments come to a screeching halt.

Keep in mind that some of the people who are getting an average of $1.185 million up to $4.7 million are complaining that it's not enough. Their deaths were tragic, but for most, they were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. Soldiers put themselves in harms way FOR ALL OF US, and they and their families

know the dangers...

(Actually, soldiers are put in harms way by politicians and commanding officers.)

We also learned over the weekend that some of the victims from the Oklahoma City bombing have started an organization asking for the same deal that the September 11 families are getting. In addition to that, some of the families of those bombed in the embassies are now asking for compensation as well.

You see where this is going, don't you? Folks, this is part and parcel of over 50 years of entitlement politics in this country. It's just really sad. Every time a pay raise comes up for the military, they usually receive next to nothing of a raise. Now the green machine is in combat in the Middle East while their families have to survive on food stamps and live in low-rent housing. Make sense?

However, our own US Congress voted themselves a raise. Many of you don't know that they only have to be in Congress one time to receive a pension that is more than $15,000 per month. And most are now equal to being millionaires plus. They do not receive Social Security on retirement because they didn't have to pay into the system. If some of the military people stay in for 20 years and get out as an E-7, they may receive a pension of $1,000 per month, and the very people who
placed them in harm's way receives a pension of $15,000 per month.

I would like to see our elected officials pick up a weapon and join ranks before they start cutting out benefits and lowering pay for our sons and daughters who are now fighting.

Purify Yourself

2Cor 7:1 Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.

The promises he's referring to are mentioned at the end of chapter 6, namely,

(Lev 26:12) "I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people."
(Is 52:11)"Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you."
(Hos 1:10) "I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty."

While the quotes from Lev and Hos are unconditional, what are we to make of the quote from Isaiah 52? Is this teaching salvation by works? Well if we go back to chapter 6 and review Paul's thinking that led up to sharing these verses we notice that he's not alluding to salvation. For example in 2Cor 6:14,15 the reason he gives as to why believers should not be yoked with unbelievers is not in order to be saved. For he views the Corinthians as already saved. But rather his argument is that it's simply not appropriate behavior Yet he speaks of the Corinthinas along with himself as being the temple of God. "For we are the temple of the living God" 2Cor 6:16b. It's not that the saints purify themselves in order to be saved, but rather having been saved, the saints purify themselves, as that is the appropriate thing to do given our reconciled relationship with God and given that we are the temple of the living God.

This is important. For the gospel gives us significantly different motivation than those under the Law. Those under the Law purify themselves in order to attain a righteous status. But those under the grace given us through faith in the gospel are given a righteous status as a gift from God, and the regeneration by the Holy Spirit affects our attitude and behavior. It's not that the saints need to purify themselves, but rather that the saints do purify themselves because it's the right thing to do.

This song is sung my Mariah Carey, I have known this story since high school, to me it describes your love and passion to the person you love the most. At times you want to smother that person with so much love, passion and attention that you could just destroy the very love and passion that you enjoy the most. This song reminds me to not hold on so tightly to that which you love, no matter what it is: a person, a pet, or a thing. I loved my Chihuahua's so much, but I knew It would crush my Mother if I had taken them with me to Missouri, and my future was not sure, so, I left them with my Mother, I would rather break my heart than hers. I hope she knows just how I love her, with every kiss they give her. I am not sure what moves me about this video, wither it is the horses, the butterflies, or the feeling of flight. Just remember what you truly love will not leave because they feel that love and desire to be near it. Please join me as I play this embedded video below.

Knee Surgery?

Is it me or does it seem like knee surgery is as common as going to the dentist? Let's see my Mother had it done twice. One of my Radio buddies had it done and now a very special person I know is going to have it. To make matter interesting, my knee is on its way out as well. Started Going to a Gym

The Ozarks Family YMCA is located on 315 E Center in Seymour, MO which is a 24 or 25 mile round trip or me. I will be lucky if I get to go twice a week. Give them a call and come join me in the pool, actually I going to the therapy pool it makes my shoulder feel so much better while I am there... later It yells at me and scolds me for what I made it do, LOL . They also have a nice swimming pool with live Lifeguards that are actually on duty. If ya are meeting me there in the morning say "Hi" to Karen. They also have some pool tables if you care to shoot pool with me. I think I will schedule my visits on Tuesday and Thursday for now.Later when I get my insurance through SSDI I may join the "Silver Snickers" fitness program which is by insurance. Well come from a swim and shoot some ool with me anytime, just drop me a note first. Okay. Don't forget your swim suit, towel and your pool stick! After-wards we can go to Mickey D's for a cold one. Have I nice day now.

Define Love

This is by far the most difficult question for mankind to define and to understand. When you are going into a relationship or if you are already there this is an important concept to grasp and to strive for. Let's turn to the Bible to answer this question. As the Holy Bible is truly our only "owners manual" that has been with us since the beginning of recorded history.

1Corinthians 13:7 (Love) bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things
1Corinthians 13:8 Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away.

1 Corinthians 13

1 If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don't love, I'm nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate. 2 If I speak God's Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, "Jump," and it jumps, but I don't love, I'm nothing. 3-7 If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don't love, I've gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I'm bankrupt without love.

   Love never gives up.
   Love cares more for others than for self.
   Love doesn't want what it doesn't have.
   Love doesn't strut,
   Doesn't have a swelled head,
   Doesn't force itself on others,
   Isn't always "me first,"
   Doesn't fly off the handle,
   Doesn't keep score of the sins of others,
   Doesn't revel when others grovel,
   Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
   Puts up with anything,
   Trusts God always,
   Always looks for the best,
   Never looks back,
   But keeps going to the end.

8-10 Love never dies. Inspired speech will be over some day; praying in tongues will end; understanding will reach its limit. We know only a portion of the truth, and what we say about God is always incomplete. But when the Complete arrives, our incompletes will be canceled.

11 When I was an infant at my mother's breast, I gurgled and cooed like any infant. When I grew up, I left those infant ways for good.

12 We don't yet see things clearly. We're squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won't be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We'll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just as he knows us!

13 But for right now, until that completeness, we have three things to do to lead us toward that consummation: Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly.

And the best of the three is love.

The Greatest Commandment Given

Yeshua (Jesus) was asked a question by the Pharisees: “Which commandment of the law is the greatest?” (Matthew 22:34-40)

Yeshua's reply to them was two fold. “You shall love the Lord your God with your whole heart, with your whole soul, and with all your mind” (Deuteronomy 6:5). “This is the greatest and first commandment. The second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ (Leviticus 19:18).(1)

In the Ten Commandments that was handle down to Moses, they were broken into areas that we need to focus on. 1) that the first three are about loving God and 2) the other seven are about loving your neighbor.

If you read every line of the Bible, you’d be able to put each command in column A (love God) or column B (love your neighbor). So these two commandments are indeed the root of them all.

But the reason Yeshua's answer hits the Pharisees is that these two root commandments are precisely the ones the Pharisees keep breaking. Observance of the law for them is not an act of divine worship but rather of self-promotion. Rather than their observance of the law leading to love of neighbor, it leads to scorn of neighbors who fail to live up to their standards (see how they treat the blind man in John 9:24-34). Note what Paul, (the converted Pharisee), says: “If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal (1 Corinthians 13:1).” Paul knew this from experience–he spent years as a gong.

Yet Yeshua did not say just to love. He said we must love the Lord with our WHOLE heart and soul and with ALL our mind and strength. So does wholehearted love of God leave no room in your heart for a spouse or children (personally I have asked this question for years)?

If that were the case, there would be no second great commandment in this story. In fact Jesus says the second commandment is like the first. That’s because the kind of wholehearted love Jesus is talking about is agape, which means loving God for his own sake and all others for his sake, and doing so not by human strength, but with the divine love that is poured into our heart by the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5). When we love others with charity, we love God through them. Our every loving act towards them becomes an expression of our love for God. My friend Gloria sent me this picture of her pumpkin she displayed this year. Now all we need to do is for it to find it's way into a a couple cheesecakes. Gloria also has a QChord and she has a little bear that sits next to she Qchord that bear's name: you guessed it ! "Susie Q", Oh My such is life. Maybe we can get a picture of her "Susie Q" bear to post here. Hopeful her "Susie Q" bear could teach my "Susie Q" QChord how to play a tune or two. Deuteronomy 28 14-68 covers the Curses for Disobedience... Here is the link for the whole chapter. I like the idea of being Top Dog. If I do what is asked of by YWYH then I will not need to worry about the curses. Just remember YWYH is a GOD of LOVE he does not stand over you ready to pounce with you are doing something wrong. When you oops just go to him and ask for forgiveness and mercy. Repent and follow his word and receive his blessings.

Halloween or All Saints Day

Halloween is upon us, is it hocus-pocus superstition or truly Christian focused? All Hallows Eve was actually intended to be a righteous opportunity purposed in history past to commemorate old saints. So how about a little history.

Most historians trace the origin of Halloween back to the ancient and enduring Christian tradition of celebrating the lives of Christian martyrs on the anniversaries of their deaths. When Pope Boniface IV reconsecrated the Pantheon in Rome on May 13, 609 AD, renaming it the “Church of St. Mary and the Martyrs,” he established that anniversary as a day of celebratory remembrance for all of the Church’s martyrs. Pope Gregory III later changed the date of remembrance to November 1 when he dedicated a chapel in St. Peter’s Basilica to “all saints.” November 1 became All Saints Day, otherwise known as All Hallow’s Day. The night before became All Hallow’s Eve (“Halloween” being a colloquial contraction of that phrase). While Halloween began as a localized celebration, Pope Gregory IV extended its observance to all of Christendom in the 9th Century AD. As Christianity spread throughout the world, pagan holidays were either Christianized or forgotten. Samhain was absorbed into Halloween. Costumes and gifts and bobbing for apples were preserved, incorporated into the new holiday. They remain a celebrated part of Halloween to this day, many centuries later. The celebration of Jesus Christ’s resurrection was supplanted in the popular culture by the Easter bunny. Trick-or-treating eclipsed pious regard for Christian martyrs.

The Bible doesn’t speak directly about Halloween, but some biblical principles apply. One things is clear -- all pagan practices are to be avoided. Witchcraft, occult practices, sorcery, etc. are strictly forbidding in the Bible (Exodus 22:18; Acts 8:9-24; Acts 16, 19). It is obvious that a small child dressing up as a princess or a cowboy isn’t involving themselves with witchcraft, so what is a biblical stance on Halloween?

Parents, the decision is up to you. If you decide Halloween is something fun for your children, make sure they are kept far away from the evil aspects of Halloween. When believers participate in anything (even Halloween), their attitudes, dress, and behavior should glorify Christ (Philippians 1:27)

As Halloween approaches and before we know
The moon will be casting its golden glow.
The air will be crisp with much cooler days
The leaves full of color to brighten the way.

The fields are all full and ready to glean,
Children laugh at the pumpkins they’ve seen!
Apples are ready to pick from the trees
Then cider will promptly be made from these.

The Lord looks down on our fun Fall days
And watches about as we go on our way.
The harvest is ripe in the fields of the soul
Make sure “to glorify Him” is our goal!

Witches and monsters we close our eyes to
But Lord, open our eyes to those who need You!
Send the workers far out in the fields
Glean from their work what You’d have them yield.

Halloween time can be fun -- it’s a treat!
But do things that honor God on the streets.
Hand out tracts with your goodies this year
You never know what seeds will fall near!

A seed that will sprout and soon grow to be
Lord, another ripe harvest for Thee!
Give us words and deeds on this night

Believe The Miracles...

"Do not believe me unless I do what my Father does. But if I do it, even though you do not believe me, believe the miracles, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father." John 10:37,38 (niv)

Let me get you the background story: It was back in the late 90's, I had developed what seemed to be a ulcer in my stomach. The symptoms were the constant heartburn, lying down would promote that bitter gaseous liquid that burned every inch of your throat coming up and going down. Setting the bed frame to create a gentle angle so I was never laying absolutely flat on the bed. Adjusting my diet to the point all I ate was tapioca pudding day and night (not even chocolate tapioca pudding). Nothing spicy or hot, no Pepsi, no chocolate, just very bland foods. If I remember right this went on for months. The doctor put me on one medicine and another to help me with my ulcer. That "purple pill" had not come out yet. Of course they ran all the test, finally they decided to go in and take a peek. My folks took my illness before our LORD (Yeshua), and the church they attended. They petitioned our Savior to heal my ulcers and give my a clean "Bill of Health". Lo and Behold HIS healing grace fell on me! When the doctors went in and took a peek they found no problems, perfect tissue absolutely no trauma to the stomach lining, no acid burns, no holes, just perfect tissue. The doctors were amazed, they sent me home and said I was health as a horse or in my case a mule... (an affectionate term my Mother used to describe my yard work for her).

So to this day I eat all the hot spicy foods that I used to enjoy before my ulcers (YES I enjoy Mexican and Chinese foods that warms you through and through.) So YES I do know of Yeshua healing grace and abundant love. I Praise HIS name and thank HIM always for that special touch. He touched be then and HE still touches me even today. If I am not healed today, It is because Yeshua is using me and my disability to HIS glory. YES I am older and the pain is not fun, I do hurt all the time, some times more than others. My Friends David and Tam keep reminding that I need to profess Yeshua's grace and healing power. They are RIGHT I do need to. This is the time that Yeshua is building my faith and giving me strength. If Yeshua chooses to heal me again HE will, If not may everyone including myself see how HE is using the disability to HIS glory, Amen. Thank you, Yeshua, and YES I do believe in YOU and in your MIRACLES you perform everyday!
