The Wiccan Rede

THE WICCAN REDE
Bide the Wiccan Laws we must In Perfect Love and Perfect Trust. Live and let live. Fairly take and fairly give. Cast the Circle thrice about To keep the evil spirits out. To bind the spell every time Let the spell be spake in rhyme. Soft of eye and light of touch, Speak little, listen much. Deosil go by the waxing moon, Chanting out the Witches' Rune. Widdershins go by the waning moon, Chanting out the baneful rune. When the Lady's moon is new, Kiss the hand to her, times two. When the moon rides at her peak, Then your heart's desire seek, Heed the North wind's mighty gale, Lock the door and drop the sail. When the wind comes from the South, Love will kiss thee on the mouth. When the wind blows from the West, Departed souls will have no rest. When the wind blows from the East, Expect the new and set the feast. Nine woods in the cauldron go, Burn them fast and burn them slow. Elder be the Lady's tree, Burn it not or cursed you'll be. When the Wheel begins to turn, Let the Beltane fires burn. When the Wheel has turned to Yule, Light the log and the Horned One rules. Heed ye Flower, Bush and Tree, By the Lady, blessed be. Where the rippling waters go, Cast a stone and truth you'll know. When ye have a true need, Hearken not to others' greed. With a fool no season spend, Lest ye be counted as his friend. Merry meet and merry part, Bright the cheeks and warm the heart. Mind the Threefold Law you should, Three times bad and three times good. When misfortune is enow, Wear the blue star on thy brow. True in Love ever be, Lest thy lover's false to thee. Eight words the Wiccan Rede fulfill: An ye harm none, do what ye will.
- Blessed Be -

A new Friend and SNOW!

SNOWING
First it is snowing here in Dadeville, Alabama, already 2 to 3 inches in 7 hours. I have already lost the cable once today. Oh My not that!  Only in the deep south can the whole world come to a screaming halt over a little snow! So if ya do not hear from me in a day or two come dig me out! LOL. Well I would rather have snow now than at Easter, like we have have in the pass. As I am typing this blog it looks like the snow is slowing down,  maybe it will be all gone by tomorrow. Shucks!! You all send me more Snow!! There is enough maybe to make a mini-snowman, certainly not enough for a snow fort! Hurry before it all melts. LOL.

Next a new friend has found his way to my  many blogs.  He is a member of BROL as well. Looks like we share many of the same hobbies and joys. Hi Joel! Look for his blog entries on my side bar, maybe he will popup to the top ten frequently.  Joel have you used the new page feature on Blogger.com yet? If so call me on skype and let's talk. We can talk about our trikes and camera's and our shooting interest... But  really I am still on hold with much of my life till I get benefits or someone takes a chance on letting me do something... I am injuried with pain most of the time but NOT dead people.... I can do things - just not all day long things.  Well later guys..... See ya soon Joel.

The Archos 9 mini-tablet PC

Archos has announced the Archos 9 mini tablet PC, which comes with a 9 inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1024 x 600. The Archos 9 features an Intel Atom Z515 processor, 1GB of RAM, built in 802.11 b/g WiFi, a 1.3 megapixel camera, VGA out, and the option for 3G connectivity and a DVB TV tuner.
The Archos 9 will run Windows 7, and comes with a 120GB hard drive, it will go on sale in October for around $700.[1]  This should compete with the Apple iPad pretty well I think, just "Look" at the 120GB HD! that is twice what you can store on the iPad. And you DO NOT NEED A SECOND COMPUTER which the iPad requires! I am sure this is a bit over priced (like the iPad) but most first generation computers are.

Thanks Chippy, for your review on this exciting new mini-PC!

New Pedals

One of my BROL buddies send me a pair of new pedals for Onyx. Remember that he said "A Girl needs a new pair of shoes every now and then." That was at 11:40am, it is now 1:30pm as I write this note. I am totally worn out and in pain. During this time span I removed the old pedals - put the new ones on - pumped up a tire. Then carried Onyx out of the yard on to the driveway - set up camera shot a clip of me riding Onyx up and down the driveway. I broke a windshield mount getting off Onyx, I guess the screw was to brindle. So I removed windshield and put it up for now, one problem at a time. I then came back and rode around the block. Mind you my block is on a very steep hill about 40 degrees - so going out was not bad but coming back was very hard. Too say the least I am very much out of shape, I say that because it never was a problem before. I think April and  September was the last time I really rode Onyx or any thing else. I think that was when my heart was destroyed. But I am healing and now I have to get back in to shape! I took somes pictures and a small video, I will process them and post them soon.  Well here they are...

Alright in the collage above you see the boxed Power Grips, On the left you see here I had the egg beaters that were on Onyx and pictures with Onyx with no "shoes" and in the middle and the right side the Brand New Power Grips installed. Yippee!!   Now how about a ride?

Onyx and I are so Blessed

Mt Top said "Girls need a new shoes every now and then". So Fed Ex will be dropping by very soon. We are so excited.  She is wondering what they look like and if they come in Pink.  I think she will glad either way...

Computer Pricing in America

This is the bleeding edge of technology.  Based on a recent article from cnet news. It is my understanding for every "High End" iPad sold it pays for 2.4 units being built. I know businesses need to make a profit, but in these times, is this kind of profit what we really need, is this the right train of thought.

To me the more units you can get out on the market the more the end user depends on the manufacturer. Buying accessories and software, etc. Why make our all ready weaken enconomy worse by making us bleed through the nose with theses high end price schemes.  This is why American businesses will fail compared to other businesses worldwide, that will produce and sell another product of the same spec's at a lower price to John Q the public. This is also why so many people wait for the product to be discontinued before they buy a computer. Example this laptop I am typing on cost me $400, that once sold for $999. My family bought 3 at that price. I personally thought the high end Apple iPad should be about $499.00. I know I was right after viewing this article mentioned above from cnet news. Remember the money is made off of the accessories that are needed after you purchase the main unit, and the monthly 3G ISP fees and contracts.

One in Five Doctors - Want an IPad!

And almost 40% of survey respondents want more info on new device.

February 10, 2010 04:48 PM ET  [1]
Computerworld - According to one medical software vendor, physicians are already warming up to Apple's coming tablet, the iPad, with 22% percent of clinicians in a survey saying they plan to purchase the device within a year.

San Mateo, Calif.-based Epocrates Inc. surveyed 350 clinicians a few days after Apple announced the iPad. The company claims more than 275,000 physicians subscribe to its free or paid software, which provides access to clinical information from smartphones like the iPhone, Blackberries and Palm devices.
The medical software provider also announced that its clinical reference application for the iPhone and iPod touch devices will be customized for the new iPad.

"By optimizing our software for the iPad, we are capitalizing on the larger screen real estate and interactivity provided by this sophisticated device," Rose Crane, CEO of Epocrates said in a statement. "We are continuing to explore the advanced capabilities of the iPad and ways it can help Epocrates address the evolving health care technology needs."
Epocrates' survey showed that 9% of respondents plan to buy an iPad as soon as it's available, and another 13% plan to buy it within a year. An additional 39% expressed interest in the iPad, but said they wanted more information before making a decision.

** Now we know where all the money is going... Marcus Welby where are you!

Up and Running!

Up and Running! about 27 hours later. Thank you Monika for your comments. The desktop runs on XP and I need to get notes on how to setup the modem under XP.  The thing about Vista it knows how to do that all on its own, Thank goodness. The laptop needed to be re-formatted - that took about 11-12 hours the second time, (the first time was a quick format, that was not good enough) and the re-install of vista took about 4 plus hours. But I am here.
